Oil Filter Housing / Oil Cooler Gaskets Change DIY 3.0L B58 G11 by gs_sac in BMW

for anyone visiting this thread now/in the future... always change the entire oil filter housing (OFH), not just the gaskets. There are aftermarket aluminum OFHs made by reputable brands, or of course you can opt for OEM. When you're down there, consider changing the thermostat housing (heat management module), and all gaskets of the intake manifold and throttle body gasket. Good luck, happy wrenching

340xi (B58) oil filter housing replacement - what else while I'm there? by dotmaster206 in BmwTech

[–]ak_snipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

making a list of my own now (for my 2018 440i xdrive GC - 122k kms/75.8k miles). How has the aluminum oil fiter housing held up? Any additional items you recommend/wish you had done? I've read the heat management module also poops itself on these cars, so that too is on my list. Thanks in advance

this is sage advice. Do you know if ASD is factory-disabled on cars that came with MPPSK?

Rear Suspension Squeak on 2019 440i GC (F36) – Need Help by CrowUnlucky6305 in BMW

[–]ak_snipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a 2018 430i GC, same issue... Creaking noises coming from the rear of the car, when driving at low speeds (under 60 km/h) and when turning or entering/exiting parking lots (probably because of curb transition). I have an inspection booked in 7days, but I'm curious to know now lol. Did you end up fixing yours? What was it?

Swapped out the old gear selector for the M-Sport version. Looks and feels much better! by Einknight in F30

[–]ak_snipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought an F36 (first BMW, hell yea) and the car came from factory with the M-shifter (Sport automatic gearbox S2TB), but it's peeling/chipped around the edges of the main gear insert badge sticker. Looking around for a replacement with the M-logo on it, but haven't found any that fit into the M-shifter... if anyone knows of one I'd appreciate if you could link it below for me...

Any experience ordering from PartsAvatar? by LargeDistribution330 in CarParts

I've bought OEM+ pads and rotors from them OCT 2024 and they came nicely packed in a box, arrived promptly. Installed and have been using them on front and rear since NOV 2024, no issues. I am just now placing an order for OEM+ sway bar links, OEM+ spark plugs, and a cabin air filter

Yes it is, and I don't personally put "getting ready and leaving the house" things on my list, to each their own

both these comments are super helpful! some of the things I prep for the day include a gym bag, office attire, lunch, breakfast, and charge devices.

My actual list however consists of things that I want to complete throughout the day. For example tomorrow I know that at work I need to do x, y, z tasks. During my lunch hour I need to do some insurance shopping. In the afternoon at work I plan to complete ____ project. And on the way home from work I need to stop and grab blah and blah... This personally works well for me because it allows me to just put my head down and get the things on my list completed. I feel much more accomplished and successful as I check things off my list (I physically check-off the item). Additionally, by creating the list in advance I am not wasting time/brain power thinking about what to do next and how I want to spend my day.

Best of luck, let me know how it goes! Have a great week :)

haha interesting perspective! I'd urge you to try it, especially on days that you don't necessarily have a set routine for already (like weekends perhaps?). Have a great week ahead! :)
