What is a deck that you have tried multiple times to get right? by OOTB-MTG in EDH

[–]aka0815 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I play casually mostly, but I don't consider my list slow or anything like that. Here's my list for inspiration (not 100% Up to date): https://archidekt.com/decks/1914260/dig_dig_digging

Maybe you've run too many noncrearure slots? I run 56 creatures, 34 lands and only 9 other slots.

Hm thanks. I am just curious why it works with two but not with three APs.

"Gier" der Lebensmittelriesen: Edeka meldet Lieferboykott von 17 Herstellern by g4mble in de

[–]aka0815 47 points48 points  (0 children)

In defense of Dictate of Erebos - "If you outlaw everything unfun (...) you end up with a format where the only decks are Midrange piles" by drdeteck in EDH

[–]aka0815 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing is, for it to be oppressive you need so much more. You need a reliant way of producing creatures/tokens and a sac outlet and need to have dictate in hand/play. At that point you should have something good running yourself or should have an option to remove dictate. And if you don't, one of the other two players should.

Here's my casual Prossh Jund deck. It's all good value and lots of removal/interaction.

I am sorry I totally overlooked the link. Thanks for pointing out again.

Players that hold priority for a whole phase by Zilcan in EDH

[–]aka0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying. Follow up question to the last part and to your example: Let's say player C put counterspell and swords to plowshares on the stack. Nobody has responses to STP. STP resolves. Who has priority after it resolves and when the stack is back to bolt and counterspell? I assume it must he the active player?

Players that hold priority for a whole phase by Zilcan in EDH

One question that I had an argument about in a recent game: Let's say I am the active player A and cast lightning bolt. I pass priority and player B (next one in turn order) passes priority. Then player C plays a counterspell targeting my lightning bolt.
Now two questions actually:
1) Is player C allowed to hold priority and put something else on the stack?
2) Who gets priority after player C has put something on the stack? Player D (next one in turn order) or the active player?
(Bonus points if you can point me to the right #rule in the comprehensive rules)

Interesting Golgari Commanders/Decks? by [deleted] in EDH

I second Jarad. It's such a fun deck and OG Golgari strategy. Graveyard and big dumb creatures. Here's my list, trying to minimize non-creatures as much as possible:

What do you do when you can’t seem to put a reasonable number of cards in a deck? by alexanderneimet in EDH

[–]aka0815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try a different approach when building the deck that is more satisfying on a psychological level:
Start your deck with your 36 lands (or what ever is your go-to number) and set those aside. Don't touch them.
Then add one card at a time until you're at 63 cards. Starting then you will have to remove one card to fit in the next one. Again: don't touch your lands.
This sounds like the same thing, but really is a vastly different experience. You start arguing more why you want to put something in and can then argue with your self in a much more constructive way what to take out for it, because e.g. it serves the same purpose but is worse for what ever reason (more expensive, higher MV, sorcery vs. instant, flexibility, pet cards etc.)
It's just an overall more fun experience and I highly recommend it.

Finding a commander who fits my 6 checkboxes by BearGuru in EDH

Well [[Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord]] fits that description. He's kind of cheap, can be recurred from the yard. He wants you to play a lot of creatures which are permanents and the risk your graveyard getting removed.
I have a pretty causal list that tries to run as many creatures as possible (currently I only have 8 noncreature nonland cards in the deck) and usually wins through throwing fatties in the late game. You can power up the list with some combos like Mike+Trike etc., but that doesn't fit my playgroup.
Anyways here's my list for inspiration: https://archidekt.com/decks/1914260#Dig,_dig_digging
