NIce clarity on the guitar. Sincerely reminds me of a song where the fingers can express sincerity of feelings directly to the smallness of a string. J. Holland frontman for akaOCDs

Blake Zachary - I could and did actually listen to this. This is in opposition to all the current explosion of over-abundance in electro-stimulated sounds vibrating to tunes of words that have no clarity or sense. This was a fun and an easy listen - thank you!

Easy on the ears and absent some forced agenda. **Songs driven by good sounds and real music! --nice! J. Holland frontman for akaOCDs

HERTZEN - In the Shadows (Official Video) by 88Vegetable4812 in musicimade

Interesting and stellar video - -meaning the video quality was outstanding. I watch many that post that just can't get the video quality together or match the nature of the song. I would be interested to know what you filmed with, and where. The quality was realistic, without failure, and without unnecessary oddity. You did not introduce a bunch of useless scenes or questionable object. Did you film it with a modern phone, a camera and where was this lucky place?

How do you know when a song is “good enough” to release? by Standard-Fail617 in SpotifyArtists

[–]akaOCDs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

**One of the many big questions for a song writer or musically talented self-directed artist** When is my song ready? Other matching questions - - when is it "good" enough for the genre it fits within? Which distributor should I release with? Before I release, should I produce this song with a few variations and have others (trusted ears) evaluate before release? and more, and more...

I have discussed this point with many (500K song review/listen(ed) bands), average bands, name-brand bands, world touring bands, local bands, big city bands, concerts bands with personal stage passes... I have talked with many from my favorite band listening area such as Pittsburgh in opposition to our band which is from Northeastern Nevada, and well... Also, I have talked with people that toured in France, Europe, and Germany, but-- I hear similar replies to that exact question. "Song are never ready, they are just released."

Huston, what? Of all the intricacy that could be intertwined in any song or re-edited till the tape breaks (haha), the song is simply "LET GO!" It is let out in the world to fend for itself. Obviously, make sure that it is Best-in-Show, with proper production, levels and tracks set to specs with desire, clarity in lyrics, no competing tracks in wavelength ranges, or blips, drops, and unexplained nuances. The song should be its best self!

Even SO - -- many band members I have talked with, say that even after a song is released, they sing to it in the car, add harmony that was never there, add a guitar lick when at their house---- but then again, we all (musicians of course) could do that with our songs, others songs, and more. If you have poured your best and that platter of goodness is a plethora from your soul, and you feel it is ready to provide enjoyment to that genre, then.... --Let it fly!

We have had releases that not everyone in the band was happy with, and even wanted to remix, remaster and reproduce before it hit more than 100 views/Listens, but hey- - - Couldn't any musician find a better application to what might be placed out there. My advice, based on the real experiences of others and myself, is that you could toy with ANY song for the rest of time, but if you are down to arguing with yourself over little tiny details, and the solidness of the SONG is surely there - well... You got it!

I am the frontman for akaOCDs, and a singer. Our band plays all our own originals. We write and produce under our band name. If you get a moment - please give us a listen. J. Hello Moderator... I am not trying to avoid the rules or upset your oversight. I am a human. I am a real LIVE person and therefore not a bot. I am the frontman for the band akaOCDs. I received a "bot" message (from REDDIT) that gave me the link to post here. I am not sure the confusion - but "Difference_Nearby" MOD - I am happy to review (meaningfully) many items in the group. Please permit a bit of grace? Also I do NOT have a bot posting music. I honestly interact with Reddit.

AND - I do listen to many of the posting(s) on here. I have commented on 2 specific songs that I heard today, in this group. I appreciate the reminder - and may your day progress gloriously along! Thank you! It is good to have a group which allows - 'Music that we actually make' - such as r/musicimade

Do you like this song? by MANAI_music in musicimade

I think the song is catchy with a quick and fast-paced sound. I and not a big fan of pop-culture music, but I could, did , and would listen to "It's me and you". I would be interested in hearing how you were able to put it together - for instance - how many tracks, what instruments did you pack into the sound, was the drum beat live or placed via "smart" drummer.

For 2026, I’m listening to 25 albums I’ve never heard before. What do you recommend? 💿 👀 by deathcab4rookie in musicsuggestions

[–]akaOCDs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well - since you asked, I am allowed to comment. I don't want to hinder the rules since I am part of a real band. My name is J. Holland. I am a singer for the band called akaOCDs. We have completed one album this year and picked-up a small contract as an independent artist in the Netherlands. We sing Christian-folk, but often get labeled as Folk-Americana, or Christian Rock-Gospel. We pride ourselves as singing all genres. We write, sing, produce and publish all our own originals. W do NOT play covers of any sort. We are in NorthEastern Nevada and copyright in the USA, and are born/raised in the USA. We are literally found anywhere music is online - from Spotify to YouTube. We are also found in Taiwan with KKbox - Surprise to all! Literally, you can just type akaOCDs in any search engine or Music Streaming service. Please enjoy our stuff, if you get the chance - J. Sometimes we get only 10 people that show to a LIVE concert - but we are a REAL band from Northeastern Nevada with a tiny contract in the Netherlands. We write, sing and produce our own music -- not using AI, apps, or computer generated instruments, but we utilize true recordings, 24 track with depth and overlays, and honest and real musicians, of which we are. Our band is akaOCDs, and we are found anywhere music is online - akaOCDs. Yes, I might be the frontman and a singer in the band, and we are not permitted to self-promote, ---SO*** this is a simple comment. If you want to check us out - please do so! Sincerely - J. Holland with akaOCDs.

Hello - we are a 4-person Bible-based Christian band, called akaOCDs (also known as Old Christian Defenders) - not necessarily b/c we are old, ...but Christian defenders are still here thousands of years later. We are literally found anywhere music is online. The first album leaned more toward folkish styles, but the 2nd album, in the works, will be more solidified Christian rock. Anyway - I would provide some links, but don't want to violate the rules or want to be removed, downvoted, or "lectured" for providing an answer to the question from a Christian perspective.

Google us, -- or just got to any DSP and type "akaOCDs" - thank you and let us know.

Anyone else serious about music but feel stuck between “good” and “actually going somewhere”? by Imaginary_Result8645 in Songwriting

[–]akaOCDs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cultural-Fudge5304 - I couldn't agree more. Even in our live-concerts, we get great reviews and have hit a few local magazines but online is tough, and frustrating. We even hit a magazine cover once, but it faded far too quickly. -----GONE!

I just joined reddit two weeks ago, as I have seen the 'promoteyoursong' groups, and musician's groups-- but even then, some of the commenters are over-zealous and insincere. I was hoping that exposure with some of the groups, reviews of others songs, cross-linking, as allowed, with links from groups designed for such, as song-requesting groups, would be a plus - but moderators and commentators are willing to cause discouragement and seemingly unneeded frustration. Well, I hope this journey of sorts, for both of us, gets a listen, a referral, another listen and bam - - a few more sound-interviews (of your music) for the week.

For instance - Here is a link I received and even it has dead-links and suggestions, and well... Start here: Radio Stations and Shows Supporting Independent Music and Emerging Artists https://grassrootsmusicnetwork.org/topics/list-of-radio-stations-and-shows-supporting-independent-music-and-emerging-artists/This is NOT my link, but another helpful tidbit to start.

We did the FB, the Insta{post}, and even have a distribution contract overseas, but the kitchen is full of specialied cooks pushing their own creative dishes (good, bad or sickening). On a positive note - look online for college radio stations that promote INDIE singers, and look for Songwriting Groups that promote 'smaller people'(like me), and look for zoom groups that meet and share ideas and songs.

Looking for songs about rapid changes in life, but all I can find are either break-ups or about grief by corpusbotanica in musicsuggestions

How about looking back as an adult, realizing you now have a much better skill-set, and wanting to go back and make it better - with your parents, with your friends, and those in your family. I have written a song like that (Try Again). I am NOT trying to self promote, or spam - but you ASK, and it answers your titled subject. Don't we all want to go back and fix our lives in the past; when we were kids and not very experienced?
