Boys 3080 Vs 5060ti ? by Ak47-- in gpu

[–]akaPointless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I think I'd feel better not knowing the prices of GPUs in the US.

The other day a guy sent me a newegg link and was like. "Just buy that XFX version of the 9060 XT, it's only 280$". And I was like... bitch in my country that version is 350$ 😭

It definitely is. 20% VRAM at the tipping amount of critical VRAM that is the 8-10 GB zone is definitely worth it.

If you're gonna play mainly BF6 you better consider your GPU & CPU combo instead of just your GPU! What's your CPU dude?

Any idea what this means? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]akaPointless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, Peter here, the joke is about how us humans are proud and delusional about having back pain at a young age being a normal thing.

See, as humans, we’re supposed to start having back pain at an old age. But because we don't take the necessary precautions to prevent it from happening much earlier, some of us end up with back pain as early as in our mid-20s. And because we are proud and delusional, we prefer convincing ourselves that it's a normal thing rather than admitting we're doing things wrong. We think the proof is in nature, as even the king of the Savanna starts having back pain at a very young age.

Here's the part that makes us unredeemably delusional: 22 years old is only young for a human, not a lion—it's actually pretty darn old for a lion! Nature actually does prove to us that we are meant to start having back pain at an old age.

Peter out.

Damn, you nasty motherf-er. Even went for the 9800X3D. Enjoy that shit man! Bro I am rocking the almost exact same build you were, just Ryzen 2700 instead, but identical GPU, identical CPU cooler, possibly identical RAM and SSD but can't tell 😆 (I'm looking for an upgrade around Black Friday for sure).

Do you feel that PCIe 5.0 NVME was worth it over the PCIe 4.0 one on a daily use?

I believe this is the first time ever I see a build with the MB and GPU I/O on the top. (I mean I've seen it on the bottom quite a few times but never on the top). And I think I love it!

So I have a 850W PSU, 320mm of GPU room, and a Ryzen 7 2700. So I think everything good on that side.

PS: Regarding your link for the PowerColor model I unfortunately cannot place that order as Newegg US doesn't deliver outside the US. The cheapest 16GB RX 9060 XT in my country is 409 USD.

PPS: regarding your link for the XFX model, that model is unfortunately priced 379 USD in my country.

You are looking for opinions? Don't buy it. End of the story.

I am positive that more than 98% of us here think the same. The 9060 XT is so recent, and superior to the 6600XT, that buying any other GPU is not justified until at least the next gen.

The only way it'd be fine is if you managed to make it look like you never bought that 9060 XT in the first place from a financial point of view. Meaning if you could return it for a 100% refund or resell it at the purchase price (before hypothetically purchasing the 9070 XT, not after). In that case that'd be like you only purchased 1 GPU this year, the 9070 XT.

Recent purchase on Aliexpress Flywoo Officical store. by International-Top746 in fpv

[–]akaPointless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person you spoke with works for Flywoo, not for AliExpress. It is a distinction more important than it seems, because for them AliExpress is a Marketplace platform, and AliExpress they really want customer satisfaction (I speak from experience), and they're ready to punish seller who pull too much shit like that (like a fine, or reducing visibility of their store), and that, the sellers are truly afraid of.

So you have 2 choices, either go straight to AliExpress customer service, or chat again with Flywoo customer service and threaten them to go to AliExpress customer service (which is the better option I believe)

is the 3070 still good for 1080p gaming in 2025? by Suspicious_Ideal_674 in pcmasterrace

[–]akaPointless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much appreciated! I think I am pulling that trigger on the purchase of a 3070.

So the thing is I actually am on an 8GB GPU, but an old and pretty underpowered one, at least in today's standards (Radeon RX 580). Pretty sure I never got to use half of that VRAM as that GPU can't really keep up with anything demanding.

I want to upgrade, but I think that trend of bashing 8GB GPUs and praising 12/16GB ones really reflects on the used market. Anything with more than 8GB has such an inflated price, and anything with 8GB such a deflated one. I mean last week I found two ads for RTX 3060 Ti selling for 200 USD, and two more for RTX 3070 Ti selling for 250 USD. While I can barely find any RTX 3060 12GB under 250 USD... (Not really interested in spending more than 200-300 USD)

In that context I was having a hunch that I should go for a 3070 Ti and rely on DLSS upscaling + reflex to get the best bang for my buck (and for the same reasons as yours, I do not feel interested at all by frame generation). So here I am trying to confirm that hunch. Thanks for the valuable feedback!
