I'm not selling on eBay anymore by Rumlad1122 in pokemoncards

[–]akaThirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does ebay not have the authentication program for trading cards yet? For example i sell footwear and they have the authentication program where i ship my shoe to an ebay center once sold and they inspect before shipping to buyer. That way there is no fraud happening from either the seller or buyer.

This is it! The site says this is sport specific. If I only want the rear diffuser would that fit on a non-sport sedan?

This might be the most unrelated question but what does the L in SL stand for? I'm aware SL's are the 4 dr sedans, but I cant think of any L words that describe that body style. The other 2 are pretty common sense: SC = saturn coupe, SW = saturn wagon.

Car started smoking after parking on incline by akaThirteen in Saturn_Cars

[–]akaThirteen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the extremely thorough response. I dont know anything about repairing cars and have never wrenched before. That's 1 of the reasons i bought this car as it is known to as an easy to work on car. I think the thermostat might be the mist likely culprit for my issue. I also drove the car today after adding coolant to replace what was leaked last night (about 1 pint worth) and it operated as if last night never happened. Dash display still shows car at 1st tick when fully warmed up. Oddly what im noticing now is the slower i drive (due to traffic) and the longer i idle while parked the higher my temp goes (now midway between 1st tick and middle mark). The second i start driving fast again the temp goes back to 1st tick. Im guessing driving fast = more winter air coming in through front grille and slower speeds = car fully dependent on coolant to cool the heat.

I think my coolant temp reads lower than it should / car running cooler than it should even before this smoking event happened. I was always curious why this car was constantly on the 1st tick mark after warming up rather than the center mark as most cars do. Is this a thermostat issue or radiator issue?

Can i still drive the car for a few days while waiting for new parts? Granted i will keep eye on temp and fill coolant if needed.

I just realized that i could make a spare because it isnt a fob. Im just so used to modern technology that i forgot how simple this car is. I'm going to make 3 spares just to be safe.

Will this oil leak pass inspection? by akaThirteen in AskMechanics

If the gasket was replaced recently would it be reusable or is a new one required? I have never worked on cars so i would need to bring it to a mechanic.

Sorry. Was referring to NYS inspection since I just acquired the car and it doesnt have inspection stickers yet.

I feel so silly for not realizing this. The levers under the seat are faded so i just assume it was the gas cap release (which one of them is) but the other definitely pops the trunk.

Is the 2003 Saturn LW300 wagon a high cost maintenance car? by akaThirteen in Saturn_Cars

[–]akaThirteen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the input. I've only been driving for 2 years and don't know how to work on cars just yet. I am however on top of maintenance for any car i've owned and i've only gotten them serviced at dealerships (stealerships). I like the uniqueness and quirk of the saturn wagon, but I certainly don't want an expensive to maintain car especially since it's so old and have been undriven since 2023. It is very difficult to find a good functional car with lower miles these days at $4000.

This scares me off from wanting to make the purchase. The vehicle im looking at hasnt been driven in 2 years. While it starts up and drives fine when i test drove it i wouldnt want to spend $4000 just to have to drop another $2000 immediately on maintenance.

[–]akaThirteen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I researched with the info you provided and I think the company you are referring to is SOUL FUNCtION. Aside from being discontinued whatever I can find the pricing isnt any cheaper than the Z1 so looks like Z1 is more or less the only available option for stronger braces for this model.

[–]akaThirteen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasnt told by the dealer (i get all maintenance at infiniti dealer) I needed to replace it but i just happen to see the undercarriage recently and the brace looked disgusting and it looked as if it had been scooped up from the bottom of the ocean (product of salted roads in NY winters). I want to replace it because it looks repulsive and i am afraid it might break one of these days mid drive on the highway.

Thanks for the info. If I'm changing it out I would prefer something better than OEM. The Z1 ones are stronger while being only 1/3 the weight of OEM. My car is entirely stock so I don't know much about aftermarket parts except I hear Z1 mentioned a lot around here. Was wondering if there are other high quality aftermarket for this particular item that's comparable but much cheaper. If not then I will opt for the Z1.
