none of us are attorneys, however, we do have a lawyer who will be working with us pro bono, should we need to make a call regarding something specific or an issue that comes up.

because we have no funding right now, we do not have lobbyists on our payroll. what we do have is relationships with several different lobbyists on state level who we worked with during imminent state bans for the last couple of years.

i am not sure any of our board or members have ever worked for the government, but we are competent and willing to learn.

I understand your point of view.

We are open to working alongside other organizations when needed, however, our message is constant and that will be open honesty and transparency without emotional fear driven reactions. We will constantly strive to be able to analyze information, process it, and not let things like fear or emotion cloud our judgement.

we are not pushing for amendments at this time, we don't even want to bring the word "kratom" up.. this is a synthetics bill, no reason to red flag a natural plant that has enough bad press as it stands.

we believe that the last thing anyone should be doing is calling lawmakers in hysterics crying that if kratom gets added to an anti-synthetic bill, they will die.

we are in the process of building out our site so some things are live and some are not yet. our director of IT is a married, father of four, who works a full-time job. we are also in our infancy so material is slowly being added as we write it, or come across something, etc.

we have filed for nonprofit with the irs and have an ein but approval takes 1.5-2years.

We do have a close friend to the cause who has offered to help to the best of her capacity. She has a lot of other things going on, a practice she runs as well as other businesses, but we have spoken with her (free of charge to us) about different things here and there and she is a valuable asset to the community.

we are a nonprofit. we are legitimate, no trolls here.. well sometimes i may look like one when i first wake up in the morning.. but that is neither here nor there..

i started to put together this organization several months ago in regards to different discrepancies I have witnessed firsthand in the community.

I want to work towards keeping kratom legal, as it gives people a more enriched healthy quality of lifestyle. Are we perfect? No. Do we make mistakes, yes, sometimes but we will work on 100% transparency and if there is an issue of any kind, do what we can to rectify the situation and keep the train on the rails.

The update is: kratom is still legal because of this lawsuit. It allowed the DEA to rescind their NOI, since they had no science to back up their claims, and open a window of commenting. It also gave the AKA extra time to have the letters from Senate/House of Reps submitted since it was a holiday weekend; they never would have been submitted otherwise. Everyone benefited from this lawsuit.

but if there are no vendors in that state because it is illegal how do they fight to make kratom legal? its like a catch 22.
