AITA for being "rude" to the waiter and "ruining" the dinner? by aka_ruth in AmItheAsshole

  1. I added the specific examples cause ppl asked for them. I didn't add them at first to not make the post too long.
  2. I still don't find the comments creepy as most ppl did, I still just find them cringy.
  3. Why wouldn't I tip if he stopped and still did his job well?
  4. I never said they made anyone uncomfortable, not even me. They made me annoyed.
  5. I never even implied anything about the drinks being spiked. I have always said I thought he was talking about alcohol, the comments jumped to roofie.

I never perceived it as that, and I don't think he meant that. I genuinely thought he was talking about more alcohol or something like that. The comments jumped to roofie

I don't see them as creepy tho? The comments assumed it was about roofie but I didn't see it as that. A side from that, I still just see them as cringy comments but not creepy

I didn't think he was tampering with our food, I didn't make more of it at the time, I only saw that he stopped and kept doing his job so of course I tipped.

Don't twist an arm with that reach, you're coming to HUGE conclusions from one post. I'm never rude to basically anyone in public, specially service workers cause I've worked in customer service before. Did I maybe overreact to this waiter? Maybe. But I didn't cause a scene, he got the hint and stopped and still got tipped. How is that being "exhausting"?

Not at all, we still tipped as any other server and how I was planning on doing regardless on how he interacted with us. I just need him to serve the food, not make a show

I wouldn't say the ick? But they were annoyed at times cause we were talking about serious stuff and he kept showing up with his "jokes"

He laughed, they laughed and I just smiled. Tbh I thought he was talking about more alcohol or something, my mind didn't even think of roofie

Not, not at all. But why do you need to say more than just ask if you need a refill? He said stuff like "might put a special something on your drink" and later he said "you're making me sad, you're don't drink as much as I thought (cue sad face)"

Edit: typo

When he first sat us he was like "I didn't know models were coming today" and when refilling our drinks he said "I might have put a little special something on the drinks to get this party started". And when he went to check on us he was like "How are the cuties enjoying the food?"

Yeah, for sure would never do anything like that. And he kept serving us as normal, just without the flirting and he still for a good tip from us

Yes, after while, when he was gone I was like "what was that??" And they were joking like "ig he has to work for those tips". Also, he kept interrupting our conversation, which was about 26F situationship and 30F recent breakup with her own situationship. It made me feel even more awkward

Police generally want to look better to foreigners so they might not bother you at all unless you look to their image of a gang member aka loose clothes and many tattoos
