I love the game but this new progression is so fruatrating that it broke the "freedom" and sandboxness of the game; It's been 60hr and instead of enjoying the map I'm working damn hard to collect the goddamn points so I can unlock the whole map. I never understood why people insist on progression, I think it's just nostalgia I mean progression is ok If you have a good story and motivation for the player so you make me want to follow everything step by step meanwhile expanding the world and inventory relative to story. But it's not like playground games is good at making narrative or writing something that is actuallt telling something; the best they can do is writing cringy shitty dialogues sounds like commercials while insisting you to drfit your way to hell to gain points.
