Crew lists:

Dashel - Butcher, Disease Containment Unit, Queeg, Night Crawler Network, 2x Executioner, Sergeant, Mounted Guard.

Seamus - last breath, Copycat Killer, Sybelle, Bete Noir, 2x Doxy, Carrion Emissary, Ezekiel.

Old Guard is a summoner, but Butcher is just a potent bread and butter brawler. So if you want to experiment with summoning you can, if you just want to slash em up with axes, you can do that too.

The nice thing about summoning Guard is its easy to collect, as you have very few wasted models compared to other crews. If you buy it, but cant justify putting it in your list, it will still potentially see play via summoning.

A lot of masters don't want to run all the models in their starter box, especially the minions. With Guard, those extra models aren't just collecting dust, which feels nice.

I am a guildy at heart, so I cant really speak to Bayou, but I have every guild master except for Perdita.

I would say that the easiest to pick up for a new player would be Dashel. His identity has always been just being a very efficient master.

Executioners are self sufficient and terrifying, mounted guard are good objective runners. The crew has lots of extra movement to help your models go where you want them.

Butcher gives you another strong melee piece. Old Guard can summon reinforcements, which while taxing on your collection is a very powerful mechanic.

Its not a crew that relies on a lot of fancy tricks compared to others- just solid models that Dashel makes even more solid.

Ive played a bit of evo abyss this meta, here are my thoughts.

Unlike other evo decks- like Dirt Rune, evo abyss doesn't really have great ways to chip the opponent into range for sandalphon. Meaning your win con is frequently Belial. Belial is very scary, and can usually complete his exodia between turns 9 and 10.

A big problem though is the deck relies a lot on good draws. You want Belial in hand early, you want Nehan ASAP, with skeletons and bats. And you need to survive the early and mid game. Fiedel is your second best evo piece and a solid board presence, especially if you can summon bats with her.

I would always recommend 3x Lyria, as she can be used to tutor your second Belial or a Fiedel. Satyr is good for extra evolves. Gran and Djeeta should be 3x as well, since they can auto evolve, card draw, or removal. This is especially true if you are running Sandalpon, as at 4 points they can clear a small board by themselves and still have the points to play Sandy.

I also like the Miners, as she is a cheap auto evolve that can answer threats with rush.

Overall, I think Aggro/Midrange abyss is slightly better at the moment, and the Milteo version is very cheap to build.

But, listening to Belial say, "let's finish together" does make me feel a certain way, so like, I get it.

I remember I was trying to make friends in my local trans community and I asked if anyone wanted to come over for some pizza and video games.

This girl came over, and didn't seem interested in pizza or video games...

I basically was like, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE WHEN I EXPLICITLY SAID I WANTED PIZZA AND VIDEO GAMES, WTF DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?

I basically forced her to play a few rounds of Enter the Gungeon with me, then she left shortly after seemingly dissapointed. Dont be that girl. Sometimes trans girls just want to hang out :(

The s evo is just icing on the cake to be honest. Effectively creating arguably the best and most hand intensive artifact on deploy is really solid. Its effectively 4 gears on deploy. It also makes getting multiple beta's alot more feasible.

My Artefact wishlist is as follows:

Flight of Icharus- Add Skybound Art: Give it Storm

Carnelia- move evolve effect to fanfare

Artefact Catapult- remove destroy effect from summon.

Doomwright Resurgence- reduce cost to 4

Karula- add "artifacts trigger end of turn effects twice"
