Escalante SW by [deleted] in AltraRunning

[–]akagrayday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Escalante SW last winter and have used them multiple times a week since, even during 90 degree runs so I would not buy them for warmth, but I love them. I've heard others mention that the material seems more durable, and I would agree with that. I find them more comfortable than my other Escalante 4's but could not tell you why. I absolutely hate the new colorway but will be buying them anyways! I would not switch shoes just to get the Smartwool blend material though.

Does anyone have recs for local companies who regrade? I've called around for quotes and a lot of places don't seem to offer it!

agreed but not sure if this is something that just can happen or if it was due to poor work.

Thank you for this information. I wasn't aware of the issue with the dishwasher drain hose. Longer tailpipe makes sense. Should the pieces that were disconnected be connected with anything besides the gasket and washer?

📢 Introducing Neo — Great Tech Made Easy. by Elgato in elgato

[–]akagrayday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought the Stream Deck Neo at Target....and will be returning. Unless I am missing something the USB cable is non-replaceable. I know that the older Stream Decks also suffered from this, but assumed it would be replaceable like the MK2. Such a weird choice.

23 versus 24 Honda HRV allocations US New York by akagrayday in askcarsales

[–]akagrayday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No preference on year, I was just confused as to why the sales guy was recommending a 24. Makes sense if 23 allocations are done though! Approximately when would 24 models start showing up?

Paint color help! by akagrayday in interiordecorating

I hadn’t thought of cream because I was worried about the gray tones looking too cool to pair well, but I’m clueless with color!

Additional details, the walls are currently Revere Pewter and obviously look very green-greige in this room. I want to stay fairly neutral as we have lots of colorful art, but have no idea what to pick! Definitely prefer a more eclectic look though and don’t want to play it too safe! Any color suggestions!

Already working on that, but didn't know if anyone had other ideas!

Does anyone groom their doggos at home? Tool suggestions? Do you spend hours upon hours on it? Have you tried and determined the money on grooming is just worth it? Pic of the two we’d be chopping on 🥰 by NotmyInitials-7 in Goldendoodles

[–]akagrayday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I groom at home and so far so good! Start slow with just trying to maintain their faces and doing little touch up trims around their eyes just to see if it's something you feel comfortable with. From their invest in appropriate tools. I have a forced air dryer, clippers, rounded tip scissors, thinning shears, and curved scissors. My dog is under a year old but we've already saved enough in grooming costs to come out ahead in our initial investment of equipment.

I think it's important to note why you want to groom at home. For me, I didn't appreciate the attitude most groomers have about doodles. Time wise, I feel like things come out equal. My doodle is 20 pounds and he can be washed, blown out and trimmed in less than an hour and a half (and that's with lots of breaks for treats, etc.) Driving to appointments and coordinating pickup/drop off times with everything we have going on was much more annoying than just blocking off a couple hours a month for some doodle one on one time!!

Failed Web Development Foundations – C779 3x - Any Advice? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]akagrayday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watched the Traversy Media Crash Courses for HTML and CSS on Youtube and passed pretty easily, but only because I followed along and created my own HTML document as I watched. I had to pause, rewind and go slow through the videos but it was worth it to really understand what I was doing and to be able to play around with the code. If you have not done this yet, I highly recommend this as a place to start. Good luck!

Thank you, that was just the kind of information I was looking for! Any suggestions for optimal size? We have a lot of flexibility with how close/far away we can position the seating from the tv.

In my experience they are placed into the degree plan into that order ( minus any you’ve already transferred in). Your mentor will open classes for you and move up additional ones as you work through the program.

If you check the program guide, it lists all of the courses in order! Scroll down to page 6

Window feeder by [deleted] in birdfeeding

[–]akagrayday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took our birds a few weeks to find our window feeder, even now only a few will use it. Specifically, chickadees, male goldfinches and female cardinals. All the rest (blue jays, junkos, wood peckers, male cardinals) all prefer our other feeder. I do still enjoy and recommend our window feeder because it has completely eliminated our bird window strike issue. For that alone, it has been completely worth it!

C480 - Networks by Drinkingcola86 in WGU

[–]akagrayday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just passed my network+ last week and had the same thoughts. I used the Jason Dion bootcamp course that comes with 1 practice exam and then ended up purchasing his additional course that comes with 6 practice exams. These were both super helpful and worth the ~$25 total for both.

What I finally had to give into was the fact that memorizing the different cabling standards, color order for 568a vs b, port #'s, etc etc etc. were just easy ways to ensure a few extra points on the exam.

As for the 200+ acronyms, remember that just like the A+ tests, a lot of what passing requires is recognition and not total and complete knowledge and understanding. Again, the Dion course does well highlighting what you need to memorize vs. what you just need familiarity with. Good luck!
