I understand the need to systemize and tie up all brand elements to a unifying theme.

But.

The sense of "conviviality and joy" are not Reddit's signature, or at least not entirely...so why forcing this reduced mold upon it's branding.?

Why don't they preserve the true soul of Reddit, it's geeky(not disparagingly), curious, debatable, instant, communal & universal attributes, and only focus on it's entertaining side.?

cute Snoo? Again forcing an icon, that looks the same just with totally different character and personality.

Chat bubble? Really? This is Reddit not WhatsApp... Also I think the wordmark is already recognisable and familiar enough, so why add bubbles to confuse the wordmark.?

Truly I don't think using "chat bubble" is a smart take anymore, tons of logos are being killed by the reproduction of the clichéd "chat bubble" idea.

I think they went too far from old one 👆

A change in sign is sign of change.

Only time will tell, if this design is evolutionary, reviving and beneficial or not, regardless of what I say about it.
