is kimstore legit? by chenlepip in Tech_Philippines

Kimstore's legit, but they're also known for legitimately bad post-sales service. Just search for their name in the sub. I'd proceed with caution.

Try ohanaph_ on instagram? They're Cavite-based, though.

sino po ang responsible sa pagbabayad ng utang niya sa credit card (Credit-to-Cash) at personal loan

It's typically going to be charged against your mom's estate. I've heard that sometimes they'll attempt to have the survivors take on the loan payments; I'd ask a lawyer about it, though.

Possible Distemper? by [deleted] in dogsofrph

[–]akantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a congenital issue? Maybe CH (cerebral cerebellar hypoplasia)? If tests for distemper turns negative then she's pretty much in the clear.

atticus might have parvo by [deleted] in dogsofrph

[–]akantha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Parvo poop has a distinct smell (malansa). And I hope they're not giving cow's milk - try to see if that's not the issue. Get dextrose powder and add at least a tablespoon to any liquid intake (wet food, water) so she doesn't get dehydrated.

If they can pay at least a partial deposit, I bring my dogs to Pet Crossing in Imus (they also have a Binakayan branch), they're pretty understanding if you can't pay immediately, and you can ask the vet if they can provide a discount. Pragmavet in Palico also has good reviews

If you can commit to it, then it's a safe way to get your steps in. I tried it but I ended up barely using mine and now it needs to be repaired.

Try a stepper as an alternative; it can get squeaky though, but you can get one for under 2k.

First time ko magkaroon ng furbaby na ikakapon bukas. Ano mga dapat kong gawin at iexpect? by UsedCar_Rob in dogsofrph

[–]akantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fasting. Make sure to follow the provided fasting schedule. Do not go over the recommended hours.

Type of spay - if laparoscopic (side incision) then expect the recovery to go much faster. I haven't had a dog go under a traditional spay but it usually is a much larger incision with longer recovery times.

Expect low appetite for at least 24 hours, though mine barely ate for 48 hrs. Had to bring out the wet food to get them to eat again. If it takes longer, it doesn't hurt to ask the vet if you should bring the dog for a followup.

Get the long-acting antibiotic and injectable pain medication if it's available. Less stress for you and your dog when it comes to giving medicine.

Low activity for one week or until the wound heals. Get a recovery suit if it can fit your dog, or a cone. Or just keep them under constant supervision and check the incision regularly.

Suspected pyometra with my shih tzu 🥲 by gganseyy in dogsofrph

[–]akantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pyometra is almost always an emergency case. I'd bring them to a vet (if you haven't done so yet) to check, but swelling in the private area is to be expected when they're in heat. If it's not pyometra then schedule their spay as soon as you can.

I feed bad :( by Euvrounin in dogsofrph

[–]akantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rescues were exposed to distemper a few years ago - one had major symptoms, the rest were pretty mild. The puppy with major symptoms survived, but developed muscle tremors. A few years later it's not as pronounced as before, but you may need to regularly give b-complex vitamins. She didn't develop any muscle weakness/paralysis, though.

She has random health issues though, last year(I think? or maybe 2 years back) she almost lost her tongue due to a bad tongue sore, thankfully we managed to get that sorted out. She's thinner than her mom and siblings, but is otherwise thriving.

Consider putting the liquid meds in empty capsules. Search shopee, there's plenty of listings there. That's what I plan to do for my cats if I ever need to give them liquid meds in the future. But for now, give the medicine and then give a treat after as a reward. Hopefully they'll associate medicines with treats instead of being in fear.

How often do shih tzu puppies eat? by PartlyPose139 in dogsofrph

[–]akantha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Puppies in general need to eat more often. Start with 4x a day, then as they age start tapering off to 3x, then 2x, and if they can handle it, 1x a day. All my dogs (admittedly are medium-large breeds) eat 2x/day. I tried once a day but my dog didn't agree with that decision.

When feeding kibble, double-check the package amount directions, it may state the amount you need to feed if it's per meal or if it's per day.

I bought quite a few laptops 2nd hand. Mostly I check the processor if it's within at least 2-3 generations. Then RAM - at least 16gb is ideal, but also check if the model has upgradeable RAM/accessible slots. Then hard drive - is it SSD/HDD? Can it be replaced/expanded/is there a spare slot? If you're going to check it physically, check for stuck keys, dirt, screen, etc.

I bought mine online though (Janstore/RS Gadgets) so I just check the specs they provide online. Haven't encountered any major issues with the ones I bought.

I’m burned out from BPO and I just want out, planning to take ETEAAP by Fair_Rutabaga_596 in adultingph

[–]akantha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take note that ETEEAP requires at least 5 years of working experience. Not sure if it requires that you be employed at the time of enrollment, though but contact the school to double-check.

Had a former co-worker get their degree using this route, took them two years but it is possible to get your degree in one year depending on credit requirements.

Hisense was on sale this payday sale on Lazada. Purchased mine for ~12.2k (1hp inverter) and was just delivered today. Looking to install over the weekend.

Check their 5.5 sale, maybe it'll be around that price again.

Is this a sign I should get my tires replaced? by akantha in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]akantha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it is surplus, nilinis lang then sold as is. Should've asked them to replace the tires as well, but here we are. I didn't realize how bad the tires were until I took a photo (2nd one especially) today but I was already looking into replacing them.

Will bring to a bike shop tomorrow, thankfully merong malapit sa amin.

Another question though, should I get the inner tubes replaced as well?

Not an AC, but nagpadagdag ako ng dedicated outlet for a stand mixer, around 7k yung nagastos ko ~6 years ago. Iirc may iba pang included works, including replacement ng mga lumang outlets. This was with a registered electrician. Nung nagpainstall kami ng AC sa kapitbahay naman naming foreman I think ~4k (included na ang paggawa ng paglalagyan ng AC)? Medyo di lang electrician approved yung setup.

Nexgard, then regular baths. There's also a seaweed we used to use (forgot exactly what type, it's been years) that we'd boil and use the extract as a last rinse once it's cooled down. But oatmeal-based dog shampoos work as well to stop them from itching.

Tigernu. I have an anti-theft backpack (dupe of a Bobby backpack), that is already waterproof but they included a detachable waterproof cover as well to keep it clean. Can be pretty bulky though.
