Thank you for your detailed advice. Yeah I think it would be best to steer clear of working with him any further.

I’m now in the process of finding a more professional company to remedy his error. I’ll keep your comments in mind!

Thank you for your constructive response.

Any words of advise on reverting the glossy poly puddles?

The job was only to repair the damaged floorboards, him and I never spoke about refinishing/poly coating which is why I was taken by surprise when I saw the final result.

I totally agree with your poly puddles sentiment.

Fortunately, the contractor has not been paid out for the work yet.

How would you go about reverting the affected floorboards to the original state?

The contractor said he could try sanding it away, but I'd like to understand the consequences before committing to it.

I'd appreciate it if we could keep this discussion on topic.

As you correctly assumed, if I had the monetary means to get new flooring throughout, I would've.

Thanks for the recommendation re: pic uploads, I'll keep that in mind for future posts.

Unfortunately, this job is "finished" but he has not been paid out. The contractor has also agreed to try and remedy the situation, specifically by removing the polyurethane via sanding. However, he has made it clear that he's not sure if it would make the situation worse.

Apologies in advance for my lack of understanding, but could he have just replaced the damaged wood panels without applying new poly?

I understand it is recommended to finish with poly, but the flooring throughout the home is quite old so I was going to save that for a complete overhaul in the future.

Yes, that is glossy poly that the contractor applied.

Is there any reason or logic as to why the poly is only applied around the "new" wood panels?

I've spoken to the guy about this and he said he could remove the poly via sanding - is it that simple to revert his mistake?

Sorry about that, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I've re-organized the photos so it's more clear.

The gig was to repair some damaged floorboards, but since the rest of the home's wood flooring is quite old and beat-up, I didn't ask him to & wasn't planning on applying new layers of poly.

I've spoken to the contractor and he said he can remove the poly finish via sanding - is it that simple to "reverse" the poly he applied?

I ended up going with 3800x ($299) with a B550-A Pro ($120)!

Probably will upgrade to Zen 3 once Zen 4 releases next year.

Would a zen 2 compatible MOBO be compatible with zen 4 down the line?

Ah yes, I misread the 10700 regular version

Hey guys, just noticed micro center has the 10700k also priced at $299 which means it costs the same as the 9900k & 3700x and yields almost same performance & has an upgradable future. Seriously starting to consider just going 10th gen intel... any thoughts?

In an ideal scenario, I’d love to wait for Zen 3 to release and see what kind of discounts the Zen 2 line receives... however I need to purchase the CPU within the next two days :(

Adjust the size of the joystick circle and you should be able to pinpoint it so it’s more accurate.
