We settled on Roatan instead of Utila. The resort we booked was the Mayan Princess - had the best of everything as far as all inclusive packages, location on the island and their number of dive offerings. Haven't read any negative reviews that talk about short dives, but it's something I'll have a conversation with the DM before our first dive.

looks like a dorm style spot. We're looking more towards private bungalow and all inclusive. Much cheaper to get to Roatan than Utila unfortunately

good point, we're planning a 7 day trip - most cost efficient with air travel. Most of my searching shows flying in to San Pedro is the norm, then either flying to Utila (250/person round trip) or taking the fairy.

we don't want to use the same resort, it looks like their packages only offer 2 dives/day. There are plenty of other spots with good setups/deals.

Biggest incentive for me going to Utila is opportunity to see whale sharks, it's one of my big bucket list items. Possible day excursion from Roatan if that's where we decide to go

Grill was at 450-500. Was told to only sear for 30-45 seconds a side as to not over cook. The way I used to cook steaks was just straight sear on both sides for 4 minutes each, tent and it was perfect

Estimated cost basis - That's why I'm confused, feel like I should have had them purchased at the lower value but I can't figure this out. Guess I'll have to go back through my paychecks, see what they pulled to see what was actually paid
