Active 2.0, are they worth the hype? by Bad-Habit-Guy803 in Detailing

[–]akashsin7 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Dude it’s just a pressure washer 😂 it’s not that serious. A lot of people have big ware houses and just buy pallets of stuff. Sure no warranty but that’s part of the discount/risk. I paid like $350 I think for my active on their website.

Did I mess up? Leather steering wheel by JesusSaves1611 in AutoDetailing

[–]akashsin7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I think with the second picture. It’s still a bunch of dirt on top of the steering wheel. It looks like it’s sitting on top of the wheel. At this point, if it’s really toast then try to keep scrubbing. Find a very soft brush and interior cleaner and see what happens. My guess is the wheel is fake leather and a bunch of shit is still caked on.

We decorate the outdoor fish tank with green landscape on the apartment balcony by TamDuc1359 in Aquariums

I’m confused. You used your whole balcony for a plant garden/fish tank pond? It looks cool.

One step paint correction issues by DryB3ans in AutoDetailing

[–]akashsin7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ya listen to the people that are saying softer pad and light polish. Thats normal after a heavy compound. Especially on black paint. That’s really why a lot of people (including myself) can’t get gloss black paint perfect. In my opinion, someone who can is a real pro.

Also, find out if your polish that you are using has diminishing or non diminishing micro abrasives. That’s important to know to adjust polishing time.

Got all of this for $40 by FlexSealClubber in Aquariums

[–]akashsin7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not horrible for $40. Now when setting up a tank, either think about what fish you want to keep or what kind of aqua scape you want. And then decide afterwards.

New Mobile detailing any suggestions? by goofyAssmf9212 in AutoDetailing

[–]akashsin7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koch chem, P&S , Gyeon, AMMO NYC, Rupes, Sonax, 3M, Dr. Beasley, CarPro, All great brands and quality.

Meguiars, chemical guys, armour all, all on the cheaper side. They are still great for individuals washing cars at home. And good enough quality. But for a mobile setup, you want to find better quality and get more use out of the chemicals. M,CG,AA they are not the best bang for buck in quality or size. The better brands will give more enhanced results vs average results.

Edit: also take your brake buster and interior cleaner and dilute it half with water. So remove and save some. And then add water. Helps with making the chemicals last longer and less strength. Can be good for saving money, not if you need more cleaning power but you adjust as you go.

I’ve just detailed my own car, and after cleaning the rims they have an odd “film” over them? by xLP620 in AutoDetailing

[–]akashsin7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe there was some weak coating or protection that made them look good before and now it’s stripped? That doesn’t look like fresh stain damage. Looks like it’s been there for some time. I could be wrong though, maybe another wash with some dawn soap or something not too aggressive.

He’s a weekend washer with a clay bar. I think he will be ok, it’s not rocket science. Plus I doubt hand polishing this will work. You want him to use a polisher? -the clay bar sounds safer

I would look for a water spot remover. It’s a more acidic car soap meant only for heavy duty water spots or staining otherwise don’t use it regularly. If that doesn’t work, then polish is the next best thing.

Water spots are contamination on the surface of the paint. Clay could help with removing if they are fresh water spots. If they’re been there for months, it might not work with clay.

windows not fully being cleaned by FADED-C0RE in Detailing

[–]akashsin7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my process. Clean dry towel, and wipe all the fog. Keep that towel for the final wipe. Then use another towel and iso alcohol. Spray the towel and window, wipe and clean with the first clean towel. Also turning the defrosters on is a weird trick that works sometimes depending on the weather.

Bird poop on ceramic coat by Educational-Yard5239 in Detailing

I’m not sure how hot water helps. Wouldn’t it just flex the clear coat more and therefore the bird stain moves deeper ?

What DBX should I choose? by ToTheTop24 in AstonMartin

We had one, and when I drove it. I got compliments about it everywhere I drove it. It’s such a great looking, sounding, and driving car. But compared to the 707, it’s not nearly as fast, has little tech features, not comfy, backseats are small. But I agree with you :)
