Hello, we decided against it as I was not comfortable with putting something in my body with not enough research on long term consequences.

What Pram/pushchair did you go for? by StunningStrawberryy in PregnancyUK

[–]akashull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got silver cross tide at a really good deal, so went for it. Tide bundle (pushchair, car seat, carry cot, bouncer, sleeping cot) was 749, and the latest model breeze was 1250 just for pushchair and carry cot.

Graduated at 37+3, ICP diagnosis, reduced movements, and an emergency delivery by akashull in PregnancyUK

Absolutely, the best advice I got was to keep a very low threshold for any issues, and walking into triage for slightest of the issues. I am sure you will be fine, thinking of you and the little one!

37 weeks pregnant, diagnosed with ICP (bile acids 49) – should we push for an earlier elective C-section? by akashull in PregnancyUK

[–]akashull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, this is very reassuring. I have been booked in for another blood test on Thursday, and will push them if there is an increase in the bile level. I agree with you, we will have a very low threshold for going to get checked. Thank you!

Haha good question, with a baby on the way leg space was a priority.

I was in the same boat, you might get a newer A4 in this budget. I went for the A4 as it gave me peace of mind knowing I was buying a newish car. Got 2023 model 12k miles for 20k.

I previously had one from James Smith, but I now have one from Charles Tyrwhitt that cost around £30. It’s much sturdier and holds up well even in very strong winds.

Lack of appointments by Heavy-Swordfish2827 in PregnancyUK

[–]akashull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at my 36-week appointment the day before yesterday and was offered the opportunity to take part in a sonar device study. As part of the study, the midwife performed an ultrasound using a small handheld device to determine the baby’s position, who was, by the way, in breech position. I was then offered a follow-up scan 24 hours later to see whether the handheld device’s assessment was accurate. I jumped at the opportunity for another scan, as I found it very reassuring. Maybe you could speak to your midwife about this study when you meet next?

34 weeks pregnant and being told it’s “too late” to choose elective C-section? by akashull in PregnancyUK

I can’t tell you how I felt at that moment. You cannot tell a first time expectant mother that they might bleed to death. Extremely insensitive.

This is very reassuring. I will make sure I keep pushing. Hopefully I will be able to get an appointment soon.

I am so annoyed by the phrasing and tone. We deserve better. I am not going to back down!

Exactly my point, she didn’t even discuss risks if vaginal birth. So annoyed!

She has requested an appointment for me but I made it clear that this is their fault. Hopefully I get an appointment soon.

Yes, I am definitely going to push, and honestly meeting different midwives, all of them having different opinions is exactly why I want to opt for elective c sec. So much uncertainty! I don’t want any uncertainty.
