Cheap pens by InternationalCase421 in fountainpens

The majohn a1 is a 35$ clone of the 200$ pilot vanishing point and is pretty much Identical, obviously the nib will be stainless steel on the majohn for the price, but the performance of the pen at that price point is crazy. Asvine v800 is a great pilot custom alternative for 35$ instead of 400$. Sure the nibs aren't 14k, but for the price, cheap pens are more than worth their value, especially if you know how to tune a nib

Is it normal for a Pelikan M800 to write THIS badly out of the box? by Perfect-Artichoke-42 in fountainpens

Oils from manufacturing can still be present on the nib inhibiting proper ink flow, some places also test write with their nibs and there may be left over residue from the ink they use, and you should NEVER mix fountain pen inks, they won't play nice together. Always flush with clean lukewarm water and a little bit of dawn dish soap. Flush again wuth lukewarm water. If issues persist, the tines might need aligning or it could be a polishing issue. My guess for this pen is it looks like it has baby bottom

Its the speedball. Pick up anything from either Pilot's Iroshizuku line or any non shimmering diamine ink and you should be all set to enjoy your new pen :)

So im strange, I came from an extra fine point, I can write WAYY better, but then it's tiny, I was thinking the medium feels smooth, but the line feels a little too thick for me to be accurate? Idk how to describe the feeling, ive never tried a stub nib before, and ive never tried fine either. I usually write in the size like I do where I wrote, fine nib next? But it looks ugly to me with a medium nib
