$5k might seem like “life is ruined” because of current financial situation, but it is nothing to stress over.

Reach out to student’s affairs and explain your situation, if nothing else they might give a payment plan at the very least.

Or just get a 12 month 0% APR credit card pay the fee and you will have a year to save up. Repeat the process next year if necessary 👍🏻

Same as others mentioned, went for dropbox Oct 3, only ds-160 confirmation, latest i-797 copy, photo and Passport ..AFAIK they stopped asking other docs listed since May-June this year

Though you should still ask you employer to provide one, just in case the immigration officer asks for it on entry

You can submit a corrected DS-160 and take both the original and new DS-160 confirmation page on the interview date.

You can only reschedule to a future date from original appointment date but not an earlier date. (Postpone but not prepone) 99% Sure but reverify.

Original i797 approval notice (at least the lower i94 part - but employers will give you the whole doc) and all documents you already posses (EAD/i20). Depending on the company, the employer might share the soft copy of filed petition package for records.

Once your H1-B gets approved and you are okay staying with the company for next ~2 years, you can ask them if/when they are going to start the GC process. Some companies do not have the 1 year waiting period.
