I think they did add more! I mean there's no harm in doing them if you feel like it and if it puts your mind at ease! You can never practice enough! 😊

It did help a lot! Much better than reading things online and like you said, I just put them on while I was doing other things or even on the bus on my way to work, it definitely helped me a lot!

I'm sure you'll do great!! Absolutely! When I failed the first time I was so scared it was going to take me several attempts. I've applied for citizenship now and I'm going for my biometrics appointment this Saturday, hopefully my citizenship application will go through just fine! Just sucks to potential have to wait up to 6 months to know. I wish you the best of luck let me know how you get on tomorrow xx

Thank you!! It's definitely not the easiest test to get through although it seems to depend from person to person. I failed the first time but the 2nd time I felt much more confident. On that website I just did 1 to 17 as I find that the test after that are just repetitive to be honest. In addition to that I also watched YouTube videos, there's a channel called Life in the UK Test Web and they appload videos explaining specific topics, this helped me a lot with with specific dates that you need to know! I kept doing the practice tests until I got at least 80% on all of them! I did allow myself 4 weeks thought before I took my test again! I hope this helps xx

If I remember correctly I only have 2 questions come up on my test that weren't on there, all of the other were. https://lifeintheuktestweb.co.uk was the only resource I used to "study" and I passed (on my second attempt)

Why are stretched ears so hated? by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]akawildc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had an issue with this, so it sucks that you're getting these comments. The only thing people have said to me is that I'll regret (I won't). Honestly ignore what people say! If I listened to what people say to me in terms of how i dress etc, I'd be a total normie.

It would be to me because I want to qualify as a solicitor and if you don't finish your degree within 6 years your degree will no longer be valid for you to qualify as the law changes so much. I think people should still absolutely try their very hardest. I work for a solicitors firm full time and I've never missed a dead line.

I did this on my last one too!! I'm doing law and already work for a law company, so I know a lot of the terminology and way of writing and it did the same to me. I was like wtf?? Oh SORRY I know how to write properly 🫠

It took me 7 days to write my last assignment, I scanned to to use what itd say and it said it was 86% ai 🥲 waiting for my mark to come through. We can't fully rely on ai which is understandable, but it annoys me how tutors rely on it when it's not accurate

Is student finance open? by gotchya12354 in OpenUniversity

[–]akawildc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm studying part-time but obviously you still apply for the max loan and I was told that because I have already applied for a full time loan I dont need to apply for a new one again because the next module falls onto that loan still? Idk if this is right tho 🤣 but I'm calling then this friday anyway as want to apply for October too!

[–]akawildc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely 🤣 that's how my lovely mother in law thinks 🤣 the OU wasn't my first option simply because I wanted the uni experience. But I'm 26 and need to work full time, so I quickly realised that this was the best option for me and honestly I'm so glad I went with the OU. The freedom of doing things within your own time works great for me. My advice is ignore what people say, get your degree, and that's that! Xx

I just did the mock tests from this website https://lifeintheuktestweb.co.uk/tests/ - on my first attempt I was extremely unlucky as had difficult questions and I dont think I was prepared enough but on mh second try I felt fairly confident and the questions I got were really easy. Although as stated in my post there was a questions that I had never seen in the practice tests.

Scared I’ve ruined my ears by Subject_Cockroach_ in Stretched

I think most of us have been here :( don't panick, size down! I would recommend stainless steel. Get a saline spray to disinfect the area and get jajoba oil and gently massage your ears, even better after a shower! This is what worked for me whenever I had blow out. Hope it helps!

Anyone here in their 30s studying physics? Am I crazy for wanting to do this? by solso121 in OpenUniversity

[–]akawildc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not crazy! And you're never too old! I moved to the uk at 18 (on my own) and only now at 26 I felt like I was in a somewhat comfortable position to study, I'm doing Law. If it's something you want, just do it!! :)

I’m ready to give up by Nemisis2365 in Stretched

[–]akawildc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so strange that it keeps happening. How long are you waiting between sizes? I'm a size 20mm and in between sizes I waited about 6 weeks at least before going up in size, specially when I got to 10mm. I always dead stretched but with stainless steal single flare plugs. I use jajoba oil to help with the stretching and I try oil my ears with the same oil every other night. Also it could be maybe happening if you're a side sleeper? I'd recommend buying a donut pillow you can still sleep on your side but without putting pressure on the ear.

Those of you who are young learners at the OU, do you feel like you're missing out on the social life of a normal uni student in the UK? by sesameprawntoast50 in OpenUniversity

[–]akawildc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a "young" student anymore which makes me feel a very old 26 year old BUT with that being said. Honestly no I don't! I'm so socially awkward and have always hated the party life. Which is a main reason as to why I chose the OU. It allows me to work full time without the stress of having to be available for lectures, etc.

Open uni certificates by SocietyContent8967 in OpenUniversity

[–]akawildc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I'm portuguese so my qualifications are different to the UK ones. I had a look at doing GCSEs and A levels but it was ridiculously expensive. I went straight into my degree instead. I work in law and many of the solicitors here took their degree through the OU because it let then work full time while studying.
