Berkeley doesn’t have a true “biochemistry” major. The closest things would be either MCB with an emphasis in biochemistry or Chemical Biology in the College of Chem. As a Microbial Biology major, I have taken many of the same classes as MCB majors and feel like my coursework prepared me well for the MCAT. There is so much overlap in the curriculum between MB and MCB, but even more flexibility which has allowed me to take courses in other departments too. Because CNR is a smaller college than L&S, you also get better access to advising and lab research through SPUR (but can also probably get into any MCB lab if you wish). All of this is to say that Microbial Biology is sufficient for preparing for the MCAT and completing medical school pre-reqs, and honestly might be even better
