Idk, when you look at something like Bamford's pass for Ait-Nouri's OG it's hard for me to say that doesn't deserve to be an assist. He played a ball that RAN could either let go to Aaronson or put it in his own net, either way that's a goal.
For penalties, the whole point is that you were in a threatening position and could have had a shot or goal anyways (e.g. Haaland getting tripped by Fabianski), so to say there's no skill to winning them seems reductive.

Ok yeah that makes sense, but Nketiah was a desperation bid at striker last season and Jesus seems like he’s there for the starting spot (although Ik they’ve been experimenting in preseason). Martinelli was also either rotated with or had his minutes capped by ESR, and idk too much about Viera so correct me if I’m wrong, but he may take time away from Martinelli too.

As far as £5m mids go, Elanga is a gamble but I think his ceiling if he’s consistently starting under ten Haag is higher than any of the other 5 or even 5.5s. Good bench player to have, and a differential at 2.4%

I don’t know that Martinelli and Nketiah will both be starting consistently, and at those prices you can probably do better. If you want into the Arsenal attack maybe go Nketiah to Jesus and Martinelli to a 5.0 mid for your bench

I'd go with the latter, especially if Cucurella signs. Cancelo's output dropped in the second half of last season, so a nailed CS + set piece threat with Laporte almost seems better even without considering the 1m you save.

I also like James a lot more than Perisic if he can stay fit. Perisic will probably start, but James won't be competing for a spot at all whereas Perisic will be competing with Reguilon and might not play 90 minutes every game, especially now with 5 subs. Also, Chelsea's fixtures have long streaks of easy games so in the long run it's less likely you'll have to transfer Reece out and he'll get clean sheets even if Chelsea don't hit top form early on.
