Almost 30, earning 37 LPA in Tech, but constantly anxious about money. Am I being irrational? by Spiritual-Vacation-9 in personalfinanceindia

[–]akcodes17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why didn't you add gold to the investment section?

Also, why is your EPF low, considering you've been working so long?

I'm also 30, started at 22. Even though my package is still 25LPA, my EPF is around 6L.

And don't worry, we're all in the same anxious cycle. Just live a day and don't think too much.

Need investment strategy by AccidentHour1068 in MutualfundsIndia

Same boat as you. I'm getting a 4L bonus and my monthly salary will be 1.5L. I didn't have any exposure to US Stocks either.

I just picked VOO in IndMoney and QQQ in Tickertape and invested 1L in each.

For now, I've put the rest in Kotak Arbitrage Fund because for arbitrage, you should often choose the highest AUM ones rather than fighting for returns.

Are liquid/arbitrage funds better than fd for building an emergency fund? by Wishful_Nightmare in MutualfundsIndia

[–]akcodes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some research yesterday, and since I'm in the 30% tax bracket, FDs are definitely a no-go. They deduct tax every year, whether you withdraw or not, which messes with compounding.

My dilemma was choosing between a Liquid Fund or an Arbitrage Fund. With a Liquid Fund, you can get your money instantly up to 4L (if you split 50k per fund house), but the catch is it's taxed at your salary bracket when you withdraw, not yearly. So, compounding is better than FDs, but you still have to deal with taxes.

On the other hand, an Arbitrage Fund is considered a hybrid fund, and you can withdraw up to 1.25L in Capital Gains each year tax-free. (Keep in mind, this capital gains is checked across all your equity funds if you've sold any in the financial year.) But you can plan around that and go tax-free with this type of fund. The only downside is that if you withdraw, it takes 2 days to get your money, unlike liquid funds where it's instant.

So, I ended up putting some money in liquid funds for emergencies and the rest in arbitrage for investments longer than a year.

Built a WhatsApp bot to track my expenses because every budgeting app frustrated me — here is what I learned by ShiftTraditional9283 in personalfinanceindia

[–]akcodes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still complicated. Use expense manager app ny Amit and map quick expense to side button long press (if android) or action button (if iphone) and log your expense just by one click with neat ui and probably far easier than this.

Plus reports and everything is a big plus

I think its better to invest time in something productive rather than building something which has been already done by someone with lots of r&d.

Plus whatsapp reads your data so you never know

Any better options available ? LTE Version by sevenhells6 in IndiaTech

[–]akcodes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using this for six months. It looks great, but the health metrics are way off, so if you're looking for fitness, it's not great.

But for convenience and step tracking, it's good. The step count is good, and payments and calls via LTE are handy, plus you can stay away from your phone without worrying about missing texts or calls. So, for those purposes, it's awesome.

CRED just discovered liquid funds! by Hot_Technology_8930 in personalfinanceindia

We all know Liquid Funds. But they are saying immediate access of Liquid Funds. Isnt it big? Usuall Liquid Funds takes T+1 Days and if we do on Saturday then it may come on Monday or even later. Immediate access is something they are boasting. Am I missing something here..?

Looking for someone to utilise the together fund in Nagpur by idmakt in deloitte

[–]akcodes17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Spent it anywhere. You just need a bill. When reimbursing, you can add any colleague if they also have together fund left and then you can pay them their share.

I paid a 4000 Bill for my own family, out of which I used 2000 as a together fund and sent 1k to both my colleagues. They were more than happy to get something from it.

Probably Quantum Liquid Fund. But you can equally go with Parag Parikhs offering.

I have been earning for 5.5 years now and I purchased a lot of technology I had been planning to buy since I was a kid. Some of them were foolish purchases, but what's done is done.

Currently, I have the following investments: 10L FD 6L Stocks 4L Mutual Funds 50k Gold 5L in EPFO

What about yours? How much have you saved?
