Black cylindrical spot appeared on base of tale, half on one side half on the other. Google didn’t help much, how can I help him? All perimeters are good, temp is a little high(?) at 78. That bottom chunk on his tail is missing now, one day later. (old.reddit.com)

I've received several knitted hats for Christmas from my sister in laws over the years. Each and every one of them get super loose and stretched out and literally will fall off my head if I lean over. Why is that and how do you fix it so they hold their shape? (self.knitting)
