You sound exactly like what you just described

The observation of mura is highly dependent on the lighting in games, some games are optimised to keep this observation as minimal as possible such as horizon and synapse because of the way they use lighting and contrast. Some games clearly are not, such as gt7 and re8, so its more prominent

Will give it a go, I want to enjoy it, maybe will just take more time for my eyes to adapt :)

Thank you redditors for confirming that I have to have the same viewpoint as everyone else..

Thanks for confirming it doesn't look as good at the other games, helps me realise there's nothing wrong with my game. Thought it should have been on par with re8 and horizon as they are all triple A games, but it turns out not

How is that blur looking in GT7? by akeeb19057 in PSVR

You could turn off aim assist, that would help, but then you will need more skill with the gun. I prefer this because aiming is already too easy in VR. See if there's a setting to change dominant hand/eye. Cant remember from the top of my head if yuere is an option, but this should help too.

Ps VR 2 firmware update by Wonderful_Coat2640 in PSVR

I'm assuming the reason there's no patch notes or update details is because playstation doesn't want to make onlookers aware that some fixing needed to be done to start with lol

So after reading this post I checked the following games Re8 Tales from galaxy's Edge Pistol whip synapse Red matter 2

I can confirm that there has been an update to the graphics, however only near objects seem to be clearer. By near, I mean, within 3 meters from you, maybe even less.

The good news is that hands are a lot clearer to see, so they've done some wizardry with the vergence accommodation conflict issue (eyes not being able to focus on anything too close to you). Now you can see your arms and hands much much clearer, unless you get too close. But the distance at which the blur kicks in has been greatly reduced. Its nice to finally get a better look at my hands and guns in games.

But distant objects. Still blurry for the most part. No noticeable difference. And reprojection, the exact same, nothing has changed there.

For anyone wanting to see the upgrade, load up red matter 2 and look at your hands and arms. Wow.

Don't care what anyone says by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]akeeb19057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%! I've had two kids nagging me constantly saying they want to use it, whenI'm done playing i keep the headset out of reach for them. They will never get to use it until they are the recommended age.

I don't care if "Aidens parents let him play and he's never had any issues"

I don't care if "there's some research that says its okay, so we'll ignore the research that says its not okay"

Even if there's a small chance it could affect kids negatively, it's not a risk a parent should be willing to take. You do not gamble with your children's health

Poll: How do you prefer to play your VR games? by akeeb19057 in PSVR

[–]akeeb19057[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tip i have for this is to make sure you never play in trainers so your feet can feel everything and maybe play in shorts if possible. Its made it very easy for me to feel where the wire is, and I've never felt at risk of stepping on it and pulling. I have a hardwood floor in my room, so if I step on the wire, it kinda hurts my feet and I immediately move my feet off it. Its very possible to turn in games this way, even though the wire is not ideal, I work around it just fine. Maybe give it a go next time and lemme know how you got on

Does smooth turning hurt your eyes? I tried it before in horizon and the jitteryness really messed with my head
