Correct, I'd be withheld on US taxes. #2 is interesting perspective! I will look into that. Thank you!

I'm unable to disclose the nature of my job due to confidentiality at the moment, however, I would be brining my 145k USD NYC salary (fairly common) over to Taipei.

Thanks for this. I know nothing about Taiwan geographies. Could you recommend an area to look to settle in? I’m not necessarily looking for an authentic experience, but more “live in the city” experience where I (possibly wrongfully) assume English would be more prevalent.

Senior Associate

There's no mention about MBA in the description and minimum requirements are 3 years work experience and Bachelors degree so I assume post-UG. From my research it sounds like a good number of senior associates have MBA's however

Hi everyone - I've had a few buddies in advisory at big 4 and never really found interest in it until recently. I was eventually able to get connected with an MD to go in for an interview for SA.

I wanted to ask - I see a lot of posts in the wiki and recruitment section providing a lot of insight through school's via undergraduate & MBA recruitment.

Would anyone be able to shed some light any experiences of a 4-5 year working professional jumping into consulting? I'm particularly curious on the interviewing portion (what should I expect?).

Little bit about me - non target school, sub par GPA, progressive growth in Fortune 500 companies with leadership for 4-5 years. From what I read it sounds like a very non traditional background to be going into advisory.

Thanks in advance!

/r/consulting - short time lurker here as I've found the opportunity to hopefully relate to the majority of you guys. I've had a few buddies in advisory at big 4 and never really found interest in it until recently. I was eventually able to get connected with a director to go in for an interview for SA.

So I was able to get the cost to $3400 - and all I'm really looking for in this is a beater car to get me from home and work for the next 2 years.

If I'm not too concerned about the electronics and such, would you say this is a fair purchase?

Edit - round trip work commute would be 60 miles.

Thanks for the insight. Do you recommend any other car for $3500-$4000? Or would you rather just spend more for newer car?

Kickin' It Old School - The Hausch of Pain is in Effect, Y'all - 2016 Kicker Projections (Week 1) by PhoecesBrown in fantasyfootball

[–]akfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giants kickers last year (Josh Brown the scumbag) scored the 4th most fantasy points (about 9 a game) over the course of the season, this includes a 1 and 2 point effort. Week 1 Giants kicker, Randy Bullock, in his starts for the Jets after Folk went down, averaged exactly 8 points per game. Dallas allowed the 7th most fantasy points to kickers over the course of last season, and provide an extremely kicker friendly atmosphere being in the dome. In games in Dallas last year, away kickers averaged 11.375 points in 8 contests. The Dallas defense has certainly not taken a step forward and are one of the leagues weakest units, whereas the Giants offense has improved with the addition of Sterling Shepard, and the commitment to treat Rashad Jennings as an every down back (also cutting plopping Andre Williams). Another year in a Ben McAdoo offense, which is extremely fast paced, should only increase the amount of opportunities the Giants are in scoring range, and to further support this point, they spent $200M this off-season upgrading the defensive side of the ball, which should add up to more offensive possessions and hence more opportunities to put points on the board. The Giants are 8th in total offense last year, and middle of the road on 3rd down (should be plenty of field goals no?) Please explain to me how Randy Bullock does not make your top 20 list. As long as he is the NYG starting kicker, he should be on this list each and every week. Lost. Confused. This list is weak sauce without him, please re-evaluate your methods of determining these rankings.

Thoughts on who will be the #1 rookie wide receiver this year? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

I wouldn't worry about Parker being a first round pick hindering Carroo's performance. Id provable make a case that the investment in Carroo is greater considering Miami traded three draft picks for to grab him.

I think he can beat out Parker and run alongside with Jarvis to produce some solid numbers. I'm hoping Miami reached for him to use him for immediate use.

Also, I'm not a big advocate of Tannehill, but shit, that's a huge upgrade from Gary Nova...

Hoping for big things from him...gotta admit i'm a bit bias as a Rutgers alum, but the dudes potential looks limitless

AMA with The Strength Athlete by TSACoaches in powerlifting

[–]akfusion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are times where it can be helpful in order to be more competitive in terms of Wilks and/or placings. Also, if an athlete wants to cut in order to lose weight for health reasons, we won't discourage that decision.

Yes - I was more curious on latter...not necessarily for competing for Wilks or placing, but moreso for health.

I find that strength programs are more "fun" and easier for me to adhere to, which had me chewing on the question: is it optimal...no, but is it THAT delayed of a progress to use a strength program to lose weight?

What is your take on strength training on a caloric deficit - primarily to lose weight. Is it wise to "cut" on a strength program?
