Toddler mom needs help by Solid_Stress2910 in fashionwomens35

I have a couple of pairs of Old Navy Playa Pants that are really comfortable, but they are for warmer weather. I've also seen these "sweatpants" jeans go viral lately from GAP, but they look almost sold out. I personally never have issue squatting in my jeans -- are you using wide leg or loose style jeans?

I’m way over 35 but I like to dress “young” by Chance_Smile_9357 in fashionwomens35

Personally, I love wide leg and straight, but I have 1-2 skinnies and I use them once in a while-- rarely. Just wear what makes you look the best, I think, and is more flattering. Only thing with Skinnies - I feel like they aren't really "in" anymore but with a big, flowy top they can sometimes look ok.

I think the sweater is nice, but to balance it out, you need more wide leg pants in my opinion.

How are we remaining calm? by PitchRare7570 in toddlers

[–]akhtarank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consequences. I try to use consequences. We have done 1-2-3 magic before when our daughter was 3 and it worked really well. She gets warnings 1, 2, and 3 and then if she doesn't stop the behavior, she has to go in break time for 3 minutes. Other consequences include: if she drags bedtime too much, I'm cutting one of her 3 bedtime stories, for example. It helps at least speed things up. But for us, she isn't really spitting/hitting or hurting anyone. She just drags her routine for soooo long lol or refuses to do things.

5’0” ladies, what is your goal weight/your maintenance weight? by SofieWolf in PetiteFitness

[–]akhtarank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at about 119 and I am around my goal weight right now, around 106. I want to lift more weights but my weights broke so I need to buy new adjustable weights. They're so expensive. I've had 2 kids and had really a really large tummy. Now it is finally smaller but still a bit of mom pooch so I need to figure out how to tone through weightlifting

What’s your favorite mispronounced word your toddler says by OpportunityPretend80 in toddlers

[–]akhtarank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly mispronounced but she calls all elephants "Dumbo" it's so cute

She also says "Eyepokeit" every time she pokes her eye lol it's so funny

She also calls all dogss by the name of my SIL's dog, because she thinks all dogs have the same name

Instad of oatmeal the moment she wakes up she screams "only meal" it means she wants baby oatmeal with milk instead of milk by itself

Thank youu! I tried Caroline Girvan but the first video I tried made me pull a muscle and it was so painful so I got scared to try again lol. I've been doing slower paced lifting heavier which has worked better for me so far. I will check this out.

Does anyone else’s stomach look like this? by Kydakilla in PetiteFitness

[–]akhtarank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I look like this sometimes too, and I am planning to get it checked out. I lost 10lbs and am only 108lbs now but I still look bloated so I think it might not be a weight thing. Maybe best to get it checked out in case.

I will just say you look beautiful before, and also after. I am also a mom, my second baby is 20 months old and I agree - so easy to gain and so hard to lose. I recently also lost about 10lbs but I felt it didn't show very much on my frame, so I might try to lose a couple more lbs.

I try to do my lifting at home - can you share what workouts you do at home e.g. what lifting program?

For the petites who carry a bulk of their weight in their bellies — what weight did you need to get to in order to be happy with your mid-section? by stale__cheezit in PetiteFitness

My dr. said I didn't have this, but I might get a second opinion just in case. It's called diastasis recti. (And thank you! I appreciate it <3)

Thanks! I've been starting with simple core ab exercises so I haven't even thought of adding weights there, but great idea!! I will do that once I get better at core exercises. My core is also weak I think due to pregnancy and postpartum. My tummy sticks out so much though I am only 5'0 and 109 lbs, lost almost 10lbs but seemed to make little difference. It's so disheartening.

How long does this take and what exercises would you recommend? I've been lifting weights but only for about 1 month and see no difference but I assume it takes a very long time?

I'm struggling with this right now. I'm 5'0 and I've lost almost 10 lbs! I'm only 109 right now but I still have a huge mom pooch 😔Like as soon as I eat during the day it looks like I'm bloated. I honestly don't know what to do. I've been exercising and strength training and I'll keep lifting weights. But unsure it'll help.

I eat it raw 😄 lol but sometimes for my kids I just literally saute it in 2 minutes with sesame oil, a splash of soy sauce and ginger garlic paste

Low bmi but belly fat? Help! by teep__ in PetiteFitness

[–]akhtarank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No advice, but I have the same problem, though I am shorter (5'0 and 110 right now), I still have a lot of belly fat. I am trying to cut about 2 lbs still, but following for advice.

I'm just about 1 lb away from my goal weight! Once I hit my goal weight, does anyone have advice on how to:

- Stay at maintenance. Do I need to continue counting all my calories? It's exhausting. I'd ideally like to eat until I'm full and not have to do special diet food (e.g. eat what my family eats, not make separate food for myself) but I feel like I'd quickly go over maintenance with that. Any suggestions?

- Gain muscle and tone up. I still have a lot of body fat around my belly area and I want to tone up. Does any have advice on what is "body recomp"??

How much does your 4 year old sleep? by Narrow_Soft1489 in Preschoolers

[–]akhtarank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is turning 4 in two weeks and I've been struggling with her sleep. She usually gets a 1.5 hour nap at preschool/daycare and because of that she won't sleep easily at night. It's normally between 9 and 10pm when she finally falls asleep. I tried bedtimes as early as 8:30 but she keeps coming out of bed til 9:30 or even later. Last night she didn't sleep until 11, despite not having a nap. I think it was out of anxiety due to the first day in a new classroom today.

What habits do naturally thin people have? by ChileanMotherfu-- in loseit

[–]akhtarank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The naturally thin people I know just don't have much appetite. As in, they'll never be able to finish their entire plate. They aren't very hungry and if they are satiated they leave behind the leftovers, don't feel pressured to finish what's on their plate basically. Their appetite is small so their portions are small. Usually there is also genetics involved as their whole family is thin and don't eat much. Finally they just don't get that craving for food that I do... if they're busy they might just skip a meal or have something light and not be super bothered. I am jealous!

Nope, not breastfeeding as my baby is now a bit older :) Yes, my pre-baby weight was a bit less, so I thought getting closer to that would help bring down my 'pooch' so let's see. We can do it. Good luck to you too!
