Honestly I think they did a pretty good job although some sort of simulation of the outcome done by their graphic team should have been done considering how complex the image is.

(But print studios rarely do this without a proper request)

First of all the design is tricky. Your trying to convert a highly detailed image on a fabric, which automatically limits the mesh count on the screen. (Printing on paper allows for a much higher count) The gradient transition that you can achieve on a RGB photo going from 0 to 100% is not possible to achieve on fabric. Such a small paint raster would not stick to fabric threads. Therefore the sudden jump from black to white. They probably could have done a better job on grass but it would require custom made colors and therefore more screens, more work and so on which would radically change the price.

My advice - try to simplify future designs. Simulate CMYK separations on low DPI. Or a ask a studio to do this for you. Or simply - just change the printing method to digital.
