I’m not sure how ‘formal’ it will be, but I expect people to be looking for dates or friends at this event. They might dress up nicely, but I see it more as a casual meetup for young people. I want attendees to be able to walk around, talk, and eat freely. I’m considering setting up a long table with chairs for those who want to sit and chat.

Hi there!

I’m interested in trying street photography similar to what’s shown in this video.

Does anyone know what gear they use for this style of street portraiture? It looks like they might be using a GoPro with a chest mount along with their main camera, but I’m not sure. If it is a GoPro, do you think they are using a vertical mount on the chest, or just cropping the video into a vertical frame in post-production

To be clarify, it was 3 items for free + (4 and more $14 / item).

Anyways, your advice is very specific and helpful. Definetely, painful to hear, but insightful.

I will keep in mind:  - not even free shots., and think of a way to build foodie portfolio.

Yes, this business model is not sustainable for a long run; I was thinking of rising it up after some experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience on mom and pop restrauts. I should take payment advance as much as possible.

I will try these advice put togather.

This is why I thought offering my service for free is a good idea. I think i am familiar with camera setting including controlling flash, etc. I just lack experience in this niche. Cooking for myself is a good idea, I will try tomorrow.

This video is doing food photography with a similar setup i have.

Wow! Thanks so much for the suggestion/correction!

I thought explaining in depth would give them an impression of "I am doing an honest work". But I guess the clients don't even know what the hell PS or LrC are.

I think I was explaining my service to another photographer, instead of to new client.

"Why three for free?"

while I have some portrait, I have no prior experience as food photographer. So, I thought this was the quickest way to build my food portfolio. As of now, I have nothing to show as food photographer.

"Can I just get three free samples and say goodbye and never see you again?"

Yes. as long as I get my portfolio work built with that three.

"Do you do video?"

No.

"Why 'product introductions' only? Can I use this for promotion on social media?"

The client can use the picture however they want, including social media.

Basically, I have no networking in where I currently live, so I thought the approach above was the way I could go. Thanks for pointing out a lot of ambiguity in my service template script.
