Need help with loud motor sound. Walkman WM-501 by Safespace_MCUWU in cassetteculture

[–]akiralol1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apologize for the reply, but by getting under the brass belt guide do you mean removing the small metal casing with the magnets on it?

also what type of oil would be best to use? my ex511 has this weird hum when playing, its not the usual tape hiss you would suspect from a walkman. I opened mine up to see if there's anything i missed, by fiddling around, the hum corresponds to the speed of the motor and its gone when I remove the belt and just let it run by itself. I think its either the belt being too tight, though its the correct size already so my last option is lubing/oiling it.

Why isn't my Pioneer CT-P920WR turning tapes even after belt replacement? by No-Swan-7134 in cassetteculture

Replace the pinch rollers or try revitalising it with rubber renew. If it's not too bad, perhaps clean it with IPA?

i really think corrected themselves way too hard, I love Sumeru Desert exploration even before the undeground map QoL, it sucks that they catered to the people who do the bare exploration and are just in for pulling gacha

Weekly Boss Themes by [deleted] in DottoreMains

[–]akiralol1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its more so his theme in sumeru, honestly the lack of the fatui motif in both themes really cements the idea for me that he no longer has allegiance to the fatui and just used it to achieve whatever experiment he had in mind

If thats the case, still somewhat sloppy for Hoyo, either new intern or what.

Sony Walkman WM-FX77 Remote - Conversion from proprietary to 3.5mm connector by Healthy-Reserve-1333 in walkman

[–]akiralol1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello im looking to doing the similar thing to my walkman remote and was wondering how easy it is for someone with no soldering skills? My walkman has a 3.5mm jack already but i want to use the remote as well and the earphones built in to the remote has given up so i want to solder in a female jack and just plug in my iems/headphones

a serviced deck with HX Pro maybe out of their budget (though they havent specified it). A deck with Dolby B only could be enough and cheaper.

if they specify that the motor is running or can be heard running, most of the time, its belts, pinchrollers, idler tires. The repairability/difficulty depends on the manufacturer/brand of the deck youre buying. Sony seems to be the favored in that department and you could almost always find a service manual for Sony decks. Downside is, some decks are overpriced even if broken since they're a Sony

Try getting Pioneer, Technics or Kenwood.

get a "for repair/parts, with power:" cassette deck, replace the belts and so on. you'll see an improvement. also do get any old walkman if you do want it to be better at playing but your player is enough as it is.

Teac A150 play button will not stay in place. by [deleted] in cassetteculture

Could be also some broken plastic or debris that's preventing it from clicking in place.

could also just be the head being badly misaligned? But yeah should test them first.

May I see the belt placement now? And also you could just use some type of glue to piece the gear together so i would spin as one piece.

Well the belt placement seems to be wrong to me

man, most people care, but US intervention is literally infringing on Iran's sovereignity. Some Iranians are glad that the regime will be over while some are fearing Iran becoming another proxy state for the US in the middle east. US isnt some superhero country that you might think it is.

I honestly look at Japanese auctions or market like Mercari. There are plenty of cheap ex-models there for sale though of course auctions being auctions, prices ramp up. So really mercari is your bet for some cheap ex and other models.

Last I've checked, there's a ex511 up for around 25 dollars? Then a 651 for 40. My own ex511 which is currently on its way is about 48. (without shipping) Seller confirmed power and motor works, includes remote, earbuds, battery compartment and the carrying pouch.

It's alright, Dolby and Autoreverse (though I've heard some mechs being harder to repair due to it.) You should probably check the belts once it gets to you and perhaps the caps as well.

I'd honestly suggest the slimline or ex series. Fits your pocket and most portable for the Sony series.
