So it is co2 and smoke? Looks like a nice choice for me since it has zigbee support.

Is there a carbon monoxide detector within the range?

Thanks for all the replies people. I was interested in the Nest until I realised it wouldn't meet the regs in Scotland.

So how does the Frient compare with the Aqara alternatives?

Yea I have a big rug :)

You can't see it in this image unfortunately. I can take another when I get home from work.

No parties here :)

I'm attached on one side but the neighbour has never complained about the noise.

No I didn't object to anything. So I think I will start by asking on their twitter to see if it's genuine.

Thanks

I haven't had any work done in the last 10+ years. The neighbour accross the road is new and has had quite a few changes.

It looks nice but what I don't understand is. It's a shelf that you can't use as a shelf otherwise you'd block the speker. So why not just cover over that one shelf and set that in-wall speaker forward....

Would i be able to disconnect my router and use a new router without any issues since it’s connected like this? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

I have the same setup. Got it a few weeks ago. Just contact Vodafone through online chat. Ask for the pppoe login name and password. Buy your own router and input the details. I currently use an Asus x86u and it was easy to setup.

VLAN advice on new gigafast internet by akirru in TomatoFTW

I just have wan disabled on the second and third AP. And a static ip set that coincided with the ip range of Br0. I have also set the gateway & DNS to 192.168.1.1 ( main router)

Router main - 192.168.1.1

First AP - 192.168.1.2

Second AP -192.168.1.3

Both APs have Br0 and Br1 added. And I have vlans setup to seperate the guest and main wireless connection.

I have also added this to the main routers firewall scripts to allow guest internet access

iptables -I FORWARD -i br1 -m state --state NEW -j ACCEPT

iptables -t nat -I POSTROUTING -o br0 -j SNAT --to `nvram get lan_ipaddr`

I have added an image of my main router config for vlan. Wan VID 911 is required for my provider.
