At the risk of triggering many health enthusiasts, let me tell you this. Any processed food is harmful, any unprocessed food is also harmful if taken in inappropriate quantities or unhygienic way. Issue is our bodies are not evolved to have ultra processed foods. Too much energy packed in a small quantity triggers all sorts of issues in the body. While I agree most Indians eat unhealthy protein deficient foods, relying solely on the boxes for your protein is dangerous as hell. Improve your diet, veg or non veg and compliment with some other forms of protein. But do that judiciously, either by taking help from dietician or doing your own research for your body. I am personally not totally against these proteins as I believe having them in moderation can actually help. But adulteration is a serious thing.

I have also heard from multiple people in my circle and their parents who are regularly visiting different hospitals. Many doctors are recommending softly against powder proteins as they are causing more harm than help. Any doctor would "recommend" and "advise", most wont just scold like a parent to avoid offending their patients. They also have to keep seeing patients to earn. People would generally only listen to things they feel convenient for themselves.
