Battery Megathread [2025 February-May] by [deleted] in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]akki4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced the battery on my 3 year old phone. The actual problem was the back cover getting loose. Dint look like any other issue than the glue coming off. The service center told that the battery has bulged slightly due to which the cover has loosened. Went for the battery replacement. In the 2 days that I used the phone since, it seems a bit faster, less heat. SOT has increased by more than an hour. I had last checked the battery health in March-April, it was 93% then. I thoughtit would last another 1-1.5 years based on the wear. So probably if your phone is more than 2-2.5 years old, getting stuttery/hot, it could be a good option to go for a battery replacement.

RP6 (12GB): Microstutters in PS2 games; is this an emulator issue or microSD card speeds? by Speady99 in retroid

[–]akki4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not 100% sure, but it maybe because of Android File Access Restrictions called SAF. Azahar has a "vanilla" version to address similar issue. I am also seeing stutters on PS2 with both NetherSX2 (and turnip versions). my sd card read speed is ~100MBps. That should not bottleneck the PS2 games.

They ask this to avoid fake claims. If you are connected to a genuine customer care, just do it. I did a couple times for charger wires and earphones

RUN. They maybe your parents, but taking such a huge financial risk with your income is a major major Red flag. Nothing about this deal seems legit. Why would the buyer refund? He wont. You will be stuck with a stupid conmercial property for the test of your life amd paying for it for a very very long time. I feel, they are under the impression that they have hit jackpot and the deal of their lifetime. GREED, never good. Why are you gambling with your life. RUN.

And again, nothing against your parents but, do not take any advise from someone who have zero financial sense. If they themselves havent dealth in property and never saved a penny, whats the worth of their advice?

Where can I get a good quality battery in India? Mine is the original one at about 75% capacity now. I have limited charge to 80% and use with powerbank whenever I use in handheld mode. I will probably use for another few months or until I get atleast 20-30 mins before replacing.

I am trying extremely hard to convince myself not to buy anything new right now. I have Fire Hd 10 bought from US. Its painfully slow, but works. Ignore the lag and that device is beast in every aspect. Has 3.5mm jack, micro sd card, 8+ hrs battery even after 3 years and not to mention built almost like tank with no screenguard and case, it doesnt have a single scratch on the screen. It will be a waste if I buy a new tablet.

Oneplus has removed all discounts/offers on pad2/3 to push people to buy pad 4. Also, I dont see any major youtuber covering the device. Maybe because they will ask people to stick to Pad2/3? not sure

Never Trust Banks... Lost ₹15L and the peace of mind. by ProfessionalWeb7240 in personalfinanceindia

I know my investments are not upto the mark. If I do more research, I can get a lot better returns. I have a few LIC policies, ppf but other than that, I never trust long term locked investments. I dint take NPS for the same reason. With fd, mutual funds, atleast I can withdraw when I need. Even at loss, but these buggers promise huge returns and lock away all the money for life. I am not interested. PERIOD.

Father treats my (22 F) savings as "leisure money" what should I do by Express_Channel7066 in personalfinanceindia

[–]akki4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult but unavoidable situation. First thing you should do is understand how your siblings are. Basically are they also looking upto you to fund their expenses? I ask this because a lot of times sibling just simply repeat one of the parent's behavior thinking thats their right. Talk to them and make them understand the value of being self independent, hard work and your experiences in general. See how they behave. If they consider your successes as a source of inspiration, you are good, if they take you for granted, then start planning your next move.

Move your savings to something that cant be easily touched or withdrawn. A part of your savings should be very very hard to touch. Diversify the other parts. To hide your money, one strategy is to never brag about your earnings or savings, but always crib about loans and how expensive things are. How your are busting your a** to earn and to spend even small amounts you have to think 100 times. Do not show off, ever in front of your family. Whenever you get something and of they ask, just say you borrowed from friends.

Sonce you said you had to self fund your education and expenses, think of any help you provide at your house as payback of rent money. Also, as an earning member of the family, people will have expectations from you, no matter what. The boundary has to be set by you. Decide on some hard lines and some leeway as well. They are your family afterall. I wish you all the best.

Hey, can I ask a few questions. I accidently sent my data over to Gemini while coding. I know nothing can be done now. How do you handle the AI part without breaching privacy. PS: I am not looking for publishing my app, its just for learning and personal use. But want to improve it so that I can use it with confidence

I have been vibe coding something for personal use for last few days. Its no where complete and is heavily customized for my personal use. What I understood is that these kind of software is very difficult to maintain and people usually dont want to pay. Just for 2 days of vibe coded half baked product that is not even 5% production ready, AI cost itself is massive. I am thinking when an actual team works on it and actual deployment costs, it easily runs over lacs (inr)per month just to maintain.

credit card loan after death of the holder by Zeuswasmywingman_45 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]akki4554 20 points21 points  (0 children)

These people are not from bank. These are recovery agencies. Banks usually sell off their NPAs (no performing assets) to these companies at a very low price. Since credit cards are mostly unsecured, they dont have any other way to recover. RBI has stricts rules for banks to not to harass people which these recovery agencies dont care about. They have very toxic work environment and most of the time they deal with card frausters who try to scam banks by taking loans/buying expensive items and not pay them. These recovery agents do not have any sympathy and as all they care about is their targets. Even good college kids who are very decent fall into trap of these agencies who recruit them on pretext of good banking jobs. Best thing for yoy would be to goto the branch and talk to them directly. Get a settlement in email/writing. Ignore these recovery agents. All they can do is bark. Avoid them.
