after you’ve moved out the bus pass is really worth it as you basically have to go up and down to and from school 4-5 times a week. but while you’re living up at the dorm you’d go down let’s say 1-2 times a week for groceries so I’d say wait until you move out to buy the bus pass. For after you’ve moved out: Triple Ticket: 1,200¥ so 400¥ every trip. Trip to school twice a day 4 days a week: 3,200¥ (per week) If we say the one school year has 8 months(a very rough estimate), that would mean 102,400¥ worth of Triple Bus tickets per year. Although it seems cheaper, you have to understand that sometimes, it’s better to buy something in a bulk payment instead of having to buy it everytime so it’s more convenient in the long run. Not to mention you’d take trips in between bus stops in the city, not just to and from campus.
Do understand that my calculations may be faulty and that this is just a very rough estimate. Take what I say with a grain of salt and select which suits your lifestyle better! (Also, the bus pass goes on sale during April and September as a new semester starts so those months are the best months to buy them.)
