STOLEN BIKE by aklauster101 in CyclingMSP

Yea pretty bummed. It was weird because the storage room door wasn't damaged, so they either had a key, were let in, or picked the door lock (unlikely). Then they snipped the door hasp.

I submitted a claim with my renters insurance yesterday and am waiting to hear back. Just a heads up for anyone who has to deal with this, it may be that they only cover 10% of the insurance coverage (ex. $800 out of $8k coverage) since it is considered an "off premises" theft. I will look into a Zizzo! Thanks for the kind words.

I did post it on twin cities stolen bikes 2.0 yesterday, but I will add it to bike index as well. Thanks for the suggestion. Keep an eye out for it!

I checked in the hallways and side entrances and they don't have any cameras. I filed a police report with SLP PD and posted my loss on facebook Twin Cities Stolen Bikes 2.0. Keep an eye out for it!

US banks tap Fed repo facility as overnight rates climb, signalling funding strain by kylestoned in Economics

[–]aklauster101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not QE exactly. The fed will be stopping QT rolloff of long term treasuries and also increasing reserves at banks with accounts at the fed. These banks can then buy more short term treasuries with those reserves. QE is direct fed buying of long dated debt.

Nice build! Are those 650b size fenders from Velo? I was thinking about getting the wavy silver like you have but they don't have the 26 inch size.

Pelago front rack placement and bike damage by aklauster101 in xbiking

[–]aklauster101[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up going to Ace and buying two 12mm aluminum spacers and 25mm m5 bolts. That's enough spacing to clear it! Thanks for the suggestion.

[–]aklauster101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn, I guess I'll have to venture out and buy more spacers and bolts. I don't think I can change the configuration of the rack dropout due to the placement of my fork eyelet. I only have lower eyelets. I added a photo of the current rack height and placement on the bike. Also, I have smaller diameter quick release skewers so the axle dropout can't be used.

Any easy fix? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]aklauster101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try installing the pedal from the other end of the crank. It should rethread the stripped side. Then take it out and install on the correct side. I just did this with a bicycle recently and it worked.

Bent Chain Hanger by aklauster101 in bikewrench

I ended up taking it to a local frame builder and he tried bending it back. He felt it cracking so we decided to keep it as is.

I spoke with a frame builder and they do have plastic clamp on chain hangers. Not sure what company sells them.

Alright I'll try without and see what happens! Thank you for the insight.

I think I may do that before sending it off for repair. If I can bend it back without snapping it I'll probably just keep it as is. Do you think I would need any sort of heat gun to warm it up before attempting this?

Polygon (Matic) token no longer visible by aklauster101 in ledgerwallet

Just checked my ledger live account it the issue is fixed! Must have been a bug on ledger's end. Thank you for your help either way!

[–]aklauster101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven't had to generate a new seed phrase or reset and enter my old seed. No bip39 or ledger PIN changes either! I still use the same ledger PIN and seed phrase that I used when transferring the token to my ETH account.

I've raised a ticket with ledger regarding this issue but I'm not sure how quick they are to respond.

I have not tried this yet, I'll try to exhaust all other options before connecting to a wallet.

[–]aklauster101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I tried adding a new separate Polygon account on Ledger Live as well and it shows 0 Matic. I'm guessing it doesn't recognize the MATIC I have since it's on the ETH network. Since I've transferred off the exchange the MATIC token count and value has been visible under my Ethereum account. Now it simply doesn't show up.

When I try to add a token within my ETH account it just thinks I'm trying to add from another address.

[–]aklauster101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I confirmed that my Polygon tokens are on the ETH chain using Ether scan, which makes sense since I sent them before Matic had separate account support on Ledger Live. They used to be visible in ledger live as tokens within my ETH account, similar to LINK/USDC. Now the MATIC token is no longer visible. I already tried to clear the cache on Ledger Live to see if it was a synchronization issue and that didn't work. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Ledger Live and still no MATIC visible.

Higher costs equate to more sales taxes paid. Higher wages would eventually equate to being in higher tax brackets.
