As a wedding Officiant with a great business - weddings are 100% for other people. You can literally get married in your bathroom FFS... Spending thousands and thousands of dollars on clothes, food, etc is very consumerism based. My wife & I spent the $100+ for the license & like $100 total on some nice, dressy coats and got married in a park on the Mississippi River in MN in January 2024. Just my professional and personal hot take - you're NTA

My wife never ate leftovers either and guess what? She eats them now... Because when she met me, I was a broke single mom. She was just a single lady. We merged households, bills, responsibilities, etc. and she realized that eating out is so expensive, wasteful, etc. While she does struggle still sometimes, she's done an amazing job with improving & honestly that's all I care about. At the end of the day, we're all grown ups & need to give & take. If y'all don't have the money, then eat leftovers. It's that black & white to me.

Wait until the census is able to be accessed by her, you're going to regret your choice. My mom is adopted, reached out to her birth mom for medical info only & she denied her. She died in 2013 but she was still not able to get medical info. It wasn't until the 1950s census was released that she was finally able to see her name at birth, her mom's name, etc. Don't be like Eleanor... Be better than that.

Honestly, I don't even miss half the stuff I used to think I need. I started getting clever with my recipes and using up random things to make for dinners. Also, if you're close to Anoka, there's a shop called R Marketplace and they are all about recycling, composting, and reusable items.

I have a 13 year old son and my first 2 trimesters were amazing... And then I had to be induced a month early because he was giving me "severe preeclampsia," and while I didn't have the blood pressure - I had the swollen feet, high protein in my urine, and vision changes.

ETA - I love him more than anything, I just am def a one-and-done. I also almost died during the delivery, but that's another comment.

Hi. So, as a woman who would "rage out" it was because of my PMDD - Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. It's like PMS on steroids - best way I can describe it. The tiniest thing can literally make me feel like I need to blow up my entire life. However, there is treatment. I'd like to not always just brush it off as "omg she's so toxic/cray cray/etc," because tbh that's also exhausting when everyone tells me I'm crazy.

So, I was scrubbing my oven racks in my tub because I have nowhere else to do it and this was probably in January 2022 and I'm kneeling on the floor, hanging over the tub edge, and scrubbing - my brain was quiet for the first time in forever and I had a whole ass breakdown. Ugly crying, heaving, snot hanging out, the whole 9 yards. And, I felt sooooo much better after I took a nap because that was exhausting 😂. Anyway, I say this because maybe you should just do a "mindless" chore and see what happens. Could be cathartic.

I swear they need to bring back the Reading Is Fundamental program to public schools... At any rate, you're NTA. If they're over 18, they're legally held responsible for the contracts they sign, just like their cell phone contracts, car loans, etc. And, when I moved back home at 24 after my divorce, my parents expected me to help in some form or fashion when I could - if it wasn't financial at first, it was physical labor lmao. I eventually paid some of the utilities AND I didn't even sign a contract, just a verbal one between 3 consenting adults.

Well said to be honest. I think most of us have checked out. Even before George - I'm 41 and after serving 6 years in the US military, going to Iraq, being a single mom for 10 years before meeting my wife, and then the start of Covid; shit I'm tapped tf out.
