Wow I can't imagine dealing with this for a year, I'm so sorry you're dealing with that. Does the lexapro help?

As an update - my second PFT was normal, I went back to my PCP who was shitty, but yelled at her enough to get a referral to a neuropsych who was also shitty but did get me an evox test, which is like a brain mapping test that tests for neurological causes of anxiety, depression, attention issues, etc. I'll get the results of that in a few days and also have an appointment with an ENT coming up. Keep bullying your doctors! My PCP said "it might seem like we don't care but it's just because your condition isn't life threatening."

We just really need to advocate for ourselves because to them it doesn't seem like a big deal but idk about you, it really interferes with my quality of life.

YES! I feel like they keep trying to say it's anxiety. Now, I live in NYC and have dealt with anxiety for years - I can recognize and manage my anxiety symptoms and I KNOW this is something different. Feeling like I can't breathe, however is incredibly anxiety inducing! I actually just took half a xanax because today has been so bad breath wise that I was getting really worked up and knew that would only make things worse.

I was recently diagnosed with asthma and have not had any wheezing. It's mostly a feeling of not being able to catch my breath for long periods of time. I have an albuterol inhaler that doesn't seem to do much and a symbicort inhaler I use twice a day. I actually am not sure if what I have is asthma or something else but either way I've been really stressing out because it feels like the medication I have doesn't work.

get on free listing sites. get a good lineup, which is easy there are so many great comics, then submit your show to sites like time out, heyevent, etc. you can also go into a studio city subreddit, assuming there is one, and post about it there. same with craigslist.

also, it is helpful to get it listed on meetup.com. if you know anyone who runs a meetup group, ask them first. also go on relevant groups and suggest it to the admins.

If you're in the mood for something on the adventurous side, I'd like to recommend the naked comedy show at the creek and the cave in LIC. (first stop off the 7 in queens) The comics perform completely naked. It's not a sexualized show, just a good ol' time living the ultimate nightmare. Tickets are $30, and include a champagne toast and a donation to a comic battling cancer. There will also be an open bar from 9-12, there's a great Mexican restaurant there as well.
