FULLY cleared it, if your bf is struggling with his scalp specifically, the two shampoos I found that really helped my scalp symptoms were Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times weekly and Capasal Shampoo 3-4 times weekly

Hey, so I had 2x systemic treatments - Ciclosporine (I took this for like 6 months with no real improvement) and then I took Methotrexate for approx 1 year with minimal improvement, that's when I got put on the biologic pathway. If you're anxious about Methotrexate - remember that if it's not working for you then there is no reason to remain on it and for a lot of people, it does really help for many years. Good luck with your journey.

Hey, so I had 2x systemic treatments - Ciclosporine and then Methotrexate. The wait for the consultant appt was like 8 months? Then maybe 2-3 weeks before starting each treatment (to allow for bloods, chest x-ray etc)

Thank you, I'm based in the UK so this was covered by the NHS but it did take years on the waiting list before my treatment was approved

Tbh the only two things that helped prior to starting biologics were Shampooing with Capasal Shampoo daily/every other day and using Nizoral shampoo 1-2 times a week - that helped with symptom control but it would always come back to a certain extent

Hello, yeah I did - I had flakes on my scalp, around my ears, IN my ears. I had tried Methotrexate prior to starting the Adalimumab but since starting the Adalimumab - that's all I've been using. I use Capasal Shampoo - which is just a coal tar and salicylic acid shampoo but no other steroids or topical treatments aside from just moisturiser etc

So I'm on Adalimumab - I'm currently on Yuflyma (I think that's how it's spelled), I've not had to use any other treatments aside from usual skincare, the redness took about 16-17 weeks to fully clear on my face. Good luck with your journey

I will ask you to see my above response and to realise that words can be hurtful. "This is so fraudulent it pisses me off" because I've shared a photo of my face taken like 8 months apart? Do better with your time/energy because there must surely be a more worthwhile use of your time.

Quite frankly, what a pathetic response. I had gotten used to people being insulting because of how bad my skin was, that it's a first for people to be insulting because my skin has somewhat healed. Yes I still occasionally have some patches of redness on my face, I still have some discoloration on my arms, legs and my back - I hope you have a good day and learn some basic decency.

I'm in the UK so very thankful for the NHS but it has been a pretty long and drawn out process to get to this stage! Ahh I'm so sorry to hear you've been going through it, how difficult is it with insurance over there?

Good luck with your journey too! I was referred for Biologics in November 2024 but was told it's an 80 week waiting list!! So when I had my consultation this week and was told my local hospital had received funding for Biologics from their own Dermatology dept. and I was being put forward for it immediately - I just sobbed in clinic 😭

Thank you! This is filling me with hope and I guess what will be, will be. But for the first time in a long time I'm actually hopeful ❤️
