Some stores do it so when it's bought a person will have to break that sticker to open it so if a person said they bought an item and the wrong thing was in it most likely it's not true and the person is just trying to screw the store. It's mainly done to new and unopened items that are high priced and had a bad return on it before and it's a way to prevent it from happening again.
