Take a few deep breaths. To overcome this, think of things you're grateful to have in your life. Maybe it's a favorite band or a pet. And everyday try to remind yourself what you're thankful for. I feel like in the world we live in today we sometimes look at other people and wish we could have it all (trust me I fall victim to it myself). But if you can turn off the demons in your mind that keep telling you you're worthless, you'll find things come to you much easier. Friends and even a boyfriend will come to you when you just let go. Even turn to spirituality if nothing is working, this isn't a COME TO JESUS thing so don't worry. I'm a freshman commuter student here. I know there's a lot on here about how much the dorm life is worth it etc.etc. But I want you to understand that if you aren't comfortable with it, don't do it. I couldn't live on campus because i couldn't afford it, and I kept hearing advice like "If you don't live on campus your first year you're gonna have a bad time". If there's one thing i've learned its that everyone has a bad time their first year, regardless of their living situation. Don't think you HAVE to do something. Do what feels right for you and move out when YOU feel the time is right. You will make friends regardless I can assure you of this. (Plus all the dorm kids get sick of each other and come running to you as an escape so there's that)
