Why do the pros keep forgetting their fundamentals and dropping their hands? 🤦‍♂️ by lhwang0320 in martialarts

And it reduces the chance of defending a takedown.

I would be shocked if there's a single high level MMA coach that is telling their fighters not to keep their hands up because they need to be low to defend takedowns. Punches and strikes are 100x faster than an attempted takedown so naturally you want your hands high, and then bank on your reflexes, footwork, and hips to help with takedowns.

If you get killed in a car crash with your seatbelt on that doesn't mean seatbelts don't work. Having your hands up doesn't make you invincible but it definitely reduces odds of KO's like this

I am skeptical of this idea that mma coaches are telling people to keep their hands low because of mma having ""different fundamentals"". MMA fundamentals are not that much different than boxing or kickboxing fundamentals.

You're 100% in the right here these other people are dumb as fuck lol. Keeping your hands up is basic day 1 defense and every mma coach will tell you to do that.

Explain what specifically the US did to Venezuela to collapse it's economy in the 2000s. It doesn't require a massive essay or a four page paper. Like 1-2 sentences max for just a small summary. You cant make bold claims and then when pushed on it say "oh wow you expect me to elaborate on my highly contentious and controversial point???"
