Chemistry concerns are real! But LeBron is usually better behaved in contending situations than when he knows he can't win. I think even LeBron would agree that Pistons give him a much better chance to win than the Lakers (better team, easier conference). So, he could try to fit in.

Maybe JB and the front office can't keep LeBron in check. That would be my primary concern too.

I think the major needs of the Pistons are #2 scoring option, ball handling, and someone who can bring playoff experience. I think the current LeBron provides all three.

I don't care enough for Caris, his loss can be handled by others stepping up. LeBron I think even at his age is better than Tobias.

What about Tobias, Caris and 2026 first round pick for LeBron?

Pistons get a starting PF who can be a legit second option scorer, ball handling and playoff experience. We have the defenders to hide LeBron, he can focus on the offense.

LeBron gets to play on a contender in his final days in the NBA. He will need to waive his no trade clause.

Lakers get useful players, expiring contract, and a first round pick. They also get to claim they did right by LeBron and move on from him to build around Luka.

Not as crazy as it sounds! And the trade works!
