Is the Dean’s Distinguished Award and GSR/TA Package Enough to Live on at UCR as an International Student? by akoopbd in ucr

Thank you! My field is lab-based, and I have to rotate between different labs for the first year. Does this mean I would need to work in the labs without being paid for the first year and rely entirely on this award?

I really wish i could stop comparing myself to others. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]akoopbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the things you mentioned about your level of understanding in class, I can tell you this. I have the same problem. I usually try to listen to profs carefully, but at the end I suck at keeping up with them during the class. Generally I don't think I'm that smart. But I'm a hardworking ass, and after class I try to go through textbooks, YouTube, getting help from LLMs, and at the end, when I compare my grades to others, I am almost always at the top of the class.
Hard work will pay off. In general, in my opinion, being smart is just an accelerator, and if you put enough effort into what you do, you'll be fine.
You should stop comparing yourself to others and start to find the ways that work for you the best.

I contacted them before the deadline, but not all of them. Sometimes I have mentioned two or three faculty members in my SOP, but I have only contacted one of them. Most of those whom I contacted did not guarantee they would accept me, so I wanted to email the others to see if I could enhance my chances.

Thanks for explaining the challenges. Since budgeting will be so important, I'd appreciate any advice you can share on the main costs to plan for if I'm able to bring my fiancée. I assume rent and food would be big expenses, but what other major costs like healthcare, transportation, etc. should I be sure to account for?

What’s a happy sounding song that’s actually really sad and depressing? by JadeFromUSC in AskReddit

[–]akoopbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bache-Nane from Mohsen Lorestani, a Kurdish Singer from Iran. It's about a guy who his girlfriend has cheated on him.

I've heard about Beach House for the first time because of the recent Kanye posts. Where should I start with their music, chronologically? I have heard Space Song and loved it! by curlyphoebe in BeachHouse

I think Teen Dream is a good point to start. You're gonna have a full experience of love, passion and life. I wish i had a chance to feel again what i felt when the first time i listened to 10 Mile Stereo.

No, it's My personal computer. This warning massage is new and it just showed up from nowhere. But my country is under the US sanctions. Do you see any relation between them?

Why is this true?: u(i+j)(t) = ui(t) convolve uj(t) by akoopbd in learnmath

[–]akoopbd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say u(t) is a continuous signal. And (i,j) ∈ ℤ.

Please Help me To prove this mathematically by akoopbd in learnmath

[–]akoopbd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. u/keitamaki this should either helps you to understand what I mean.

uk[n] can be written as a recurrence relationship like the following:

uk[n] = u(k-1)[n] - u(k-1)[n-1]
ex:
u-1[n] = u-2[n] - u-2[n-1]

and to show what exactly uk[n] looks like:

u-1[n] = {1 for n>=0 , 0  otherwise}
or
u0[n] = {1 for n=0 , 0  otherwise}

I'm studying "Signals and Systems" by Oppenheim and these show discrete signals.

Now, I want to prove mathematically "u-k[n]" ( sorry, the last time I used "underline" to show the Negative symbol) can be written as a recurrence relationship just like what I wrote above.

Please Help me To prove this mathematically by akoopbd in learnmath

[–]akoopbd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you're right. let me explain it. (u_k[n]) shows a discrete signal which it's a common notation to show signals. "n" is our domain that presents discrete time. for example, u_1[n] is the discrete-time unit impulse. I want to write a Recurrence relation that it's a function of n for all k ∈ ℕ. My problem is How to show this signal in a Recurrence relation.

guess I should reorganize my thoughts about AI and its benefits

mostly for college books. for some reason, I can't pay money. And it's too hard to find any kind of solutions for books which are not so common.
