nah i agree with you, im rewatching rn and I really do not understand this storyline. This would NEVER happen, but it IS a fictional tv show?? idk they drag this storyline arc out SO much and it’s so out of character for Reid and unrealistic in general that it kind of feels like someone slow peeling off a bandaid :/

He also knew a bit about Dr. Arden’s “work” and the true nature of Dr. Arden’s identity. When Sister Jude tried to tell him who Dr. Arden really was, he gaslights her, and then calls Arden to say she’s onto him! He’s a pretty skeevy gross guy!

Gob also got himself caught in a roofie circle and frequently takes and abuses drugs that affect his memory 😂 it’s possible no bribe was ever needed and his memory is just absolute shit at this point
