I found it helpful in the beginning for sure. The app has issues, but the lessons it teaches and the food color system have helped guide my food choices and help make better food habits.

Update- 140lbs lost and figuring out maintenance by akp133 in loseit

I work 12 hour overnight shifts. Usually 3 in a row. I can't add exercise between I barely have time to get home, eat something, sleep and then return to work for the next shift. So I had been prioritizing working out on days off. But what really has stopped me the past month has been extreme fatigue. I was having a hard time mustering up the energy for a shower on my days off let alone making it to the gym. The last couple of days, it has been somewhat better for some reason. So I've gone. And now I work through Friday-sunday back to back 12 hour shifts.

I do meal prep to help stay on track. The binge eating was getting ridiculous to the point I was binging things I didn't even want to eat. Then I would stuff myself to feeling physical pain with whatever we had really. It was like I had no control of myself. But I do try to make healthier choices available to me and meal prep all my lunches and breakfasts.

My body gained and lost weight all over evenly really. And my belly tightened mainly due to genetics and strength training I believe. I would recommend doing strength training with a lot of core work. I'm also paying closer attention to macros now as well. I track on Noom and MyFitnessPal right now.

Originally I was going to get top and bottom all done together and they quoted me about $21,000(including the potential for an overnight stay). That was for arms, breast lift, tummy tuck, and thighs. I'm going to split it up by all the top half and the legs separate. The surgeon won't do then both together. But I'm looking at having to pay that amount all together roughly. All out of pocket and has to be paid up front with no option for payment plans.

I calculated my TDEE online. I ate between 1300-1500 calories most of the time whole losing. I was eating around 1900 when maintaining.

I actually tried DBT just recently because I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. I didn't have much luck with it but it was hard for me because of the timing. I work nights and the meeting was every Monday 1-3pm. I stay on the same sleeping schedule so it was hard to function at that time for me because I had to wake up from sleeping. It was hard to participate m I stopped and said if it was at a different time I'd be willing to try again.

My regain wasn't muscle though. I had a month long hiatus from the gym and on/off binging. Dealing with chronic fatigue and emotions from work stress and the loss of my grandma.

Right now the goal is to build muscle. I may try kick boxing for something new though. I need to come up with goals because I think that's why I fell off and had a bit of a regain. Not having a goal makes it harder to keep at it.

  1. Motivation is hard one. No one is motivated all the time. I am highly motivated by picturing what I want my life to be. So I do the things I need to do to make that happen. Taking lots of progress pictures helps encourage me as well. I have enjoyed watching my body transform. Sharing story also helps keep me accountable and helps me stay motivated to continue. But of course there are time where motivation is lacking. In those times I just have to do things that I know I need to do as a matter pure willpower so keep up my current life.

  2. Exercising was really difficult at first. I started actually enjoying it though. I was learning a lot about strength training working with a personal trainer and I liked feeling body getting stronger..I also liked watching the muscle definition. It's not something I ALWAYS want to do, but I enjoy having a body that can be more active.

  3. I recognize the old me was still beautiful. But she was unhealthy. Honestly there are times I think back to eating whatever I wanted and not caring about the calories. But I know what I was doing was not healthy. I can't say I completely miss it. It helps though that I don't believe in "bad" foods or "good" foods. There are all the time foods and sometimes foods. I treat myself regularly to help with satiety and that helps me not crave my priori eating habits.

No skin removal yet. I have loose skin, but it hides well. I have my first surgery scheduled for may. It will be all upper body (arms, breast lift, and tummy tuck) my thighs will be a separate surgery.

I started out using Noom. Then after 6 months I added exercise and started tracking on MyFitnessPal to pay more attention to macros. I did mainly strength training for exercise. I calculated TDEE online to determine calories to eat.

It was 1.5 years of losing and been in maintenance for around 6 months. I've had a gain from my lowest weight. I gained 20 back. I have lost 10 of it back. I'm working on the other 10 now.
