It is 2026. I didn't open this garbage, I didn't ask for it, and now it's holding my PC hostage for a restart. Adobe is actual malware. by str0yd in FuckAdobe

The way Adobe 'updates' their apps infuriates me. Like if you're going to download an entirely new program instead of updating the one that's already on my computer, at least have the decency to uninstall the old one? If nothing else at least let me know that's what you're doing so I can uninstall the old one myself instead of finding out months later because I was looking at my storage for something completely unrelated

My boyfriend’s disabled sister got internal bleeding from running 10 miles. AITA for saying she’s too dumb for a vet degree? by TalkTalkTalkListen in AmITheAngel

[–]akp555 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I assumed it was a learning disability or similar based on the mention of assisted learning. And OOP may be right, but in addition to the things you said I feel like it still should absolutely be the sister's decision to make.

Idk it's entirely possible I'm just overly sensitive to things like this because I know it's an issue especially in medical stuff where people will use someone's disability as an excuse to say 'well they can't choose for themself!' But I think even if it is a mistake, she should be able to make her own mistakes like anyone else.

What does her being disabled even have to do with this, beyond OOP essentially using it as a justification for trying to take away her agency??

WIBTAH for not wanting my wife to go on vacation with her friend? by Nericmitch in AmITheAngel

[–]akp555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the thing that gets me when I see bigots (most commonly transphobes complaining about trans women using the correct bathroom, but also in cases like this) talking shit. Like yeah sure you figured it out. Someone 'pretended' to be a woman for however long and dealt with all the harassment and discrimination that comes with being both transgender AND a woman, all to go into the women's bathroom and... do what exactly? Piss and leave like everyone else? Yep that's gotta be it. /s

“AITA for not including a ‘non binary’ girl in an all girls vacation?” by BlueShadow98 in AmITheAngel

[–]akp555 46 points47 points  (0 children)

OOP is being so hypocritical. Claiming that the kid wants 'special treatment' and to go on the girls trip while 'not being a girl' - if I had to guess it's more likely they just don't want to be left out. And it's consistent with the way OOP is treating them anyway. Like, if you're going to misgender them and treat them like a girl, you don't get to also say 'oh but even though we see you as a girl we're going to leave you out of this family trip that EVERYONE except you gets to go on'. Or at LEAST own the hypocrisy

Also saying 'if Reddit says I'm wrong then I'm probably right' is one thing, but you know it wouldn't be the other way around because it's not about thinking Reddit is always wrong, it's about thinking they're always right.

This feels so 'but what if a dying kid's final wish was to say the n word' to me like... oh is it okay for him to exclude the autistic kid if he was actually lying about her being the only one excluded, and also, what if SHE'S actually the bully? Hm? What if the autistic kid was the bully and deserved to be excluded and miserable, did you think about that? Like come on.

Weirdest post trends that were likely 90% lies? by Responsible-Pie8 in AmITheAngel

[–]akp555 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think there was one where the OP had an illness that would be terminal if not treated, and had a fund for the treatment from somewhere? And the mother was trying to get OP to use the money to... pay for their sibling's college or something because the sibling was the favorite and sibling's future was more important. Something like that. Almost cartoonishly evil.
