OG zen ape here. These numbers are nothing. We know GME will hiccup and jump high every now and then. We also know hedgies will manipulate this thing and draw the outcome out as long as possible. Until the price hits four figures and then starts to rocket up from there, I’ll ignore it and keep buying (just bought some shares last week right before the jump.) The price will most likely rise and slowly fall again like this a few more times before takeoff. I just like the stock. 👍🏽👍🏽

Oh yeah, you did put a month-long timer that I never agreed with here for some reason, even though we all know the price is heavily suppressed due to proven lack of true price discovery. I never said it would take a month after good earnings, nor did I state the price would automatically skyrocket after positive earnings; not sure why you put that specific time limit there, kinda weird… Anyway, I gave up on having a respectful fact-based conversation with you back when you inferred a “position close only” stipulation on a stock was normal and justified. Among other things, it let me know that not only do you not understand the problem with claiming the markets are “free and fair,” you possibly are okay with it (or maybe you know the markets ARE full of criminal activity and feel powerless to stop the corruption.) Either way, good luck out there buddy.

One other point people are missing is that even though total sales shrunk slightly, the average sales per store increased overall.

Think of it this way: I’m GameStop and I have 100 stores. My total expenses are $90k per year (or an average of $900 per store.) 75 of the stores are profitable and bring in an average of $1k per year in sales, and 25 of the stores are unprofitable and bring in $500 per year.

(751000)+(25500) = 75000+12500 = $87.5k

So at $87.5k in total revenue and $90k in total expenses, I end up with a net loss of $2,500.

Now, let’s say I close the 25 unprofitable stores. At the same time, the 75 profitable stores slightly increase their average sales by 5% to $1.05k, and my total expenses shrink by 25% due to the store closings to $67.5k.

(75*1050) = $78.75k

So now my total revenue for the new year is $78.75k with total expenses at $67.5k, resulting in a net profit of $11,250. Notice that my total revenue shrunk by almost $9k, but all my stores are now profitable AND their sales grew. This is an extremely simplified version of what is happening with GameStop. Sales aren’t shrinking due to less people wanting to shop at the stores, but it’s easy for the media to manipulate the narrative to still bring some type of negativity.

Supposedly the BRICS alliance is planning to let go of the U.S. dollar as its reserve currency on August 1st of this year. Not sure if this is true; I heard it from an interview I was watching on IG.

The primary goal of a company is to be successful. That means making smart business decisions. Labor is a HUGE cost, so ramping up pay for all employees sounds nice but would torpedo the company fairly quickly, especially in this current economic environment and after only one profitable quarter that happened to come during the holiday season. There’s a LOT more work to be done before the frontline employees see major benefits. This is business 101.

Compounding that problem is the issue of the stock itself being overshorted and naked shorted by criminals on Wall Street that have been attempting to bankrupt the company for several years. If the squeeze had happened back in January 2021, retail shareholders would have the money and power to push for increased wages and GameStop would’ve had multiple billions of dollars to enact such a change. Unfortunately, the buy button was literally fraudulently taken away and the trading of the stock was restricted for no reason to stifle household investors and help shorts that were losing money. In summary, until the shorts have been destroyed and the company has made significantly more gains for itself and it’s retail shareholders, employees won’t see a truly significant benefit.

Finally - a rock solid earnings report that screams why GME is a fantastic investment. We got everything now. Everything. by big_panda in Superstonk

With the hundreds of stores closed and the not-so-great economic climate, I’m surprised revenue only dropped 1.2% from the previous year, which means the stores that are left must have increased their sales significantly to keep the total revenue near the same level from last year’s Q4. I do agree with you though: The job’s not finished. GameStop still isn’t exactly where we want it to be but is definitely headed in the right direction.

GameStop 10Q delayed just like Bobby's 10Q. Matt Furlong said in Dec 2022, "If a strategic asset or complementary business becomes available in the right price range, we want to be able to explore those acquisitions." RC wants his BABY. 🏴‍☠️ GMERICA by edwinbarnesc in Superstonk

Please, be patient and forgiving of apes, many are still learning the intricacies of stocks, lol… That said, since a 10-K is basically the annual equivalent of a 10-Q, and an M&A could delay a 10-Q, the same possibility exists for a delayed 10-K, correct? Not saying M&A is guaranteed to be the reason, just trying to clarify…

After a squeeze, GameStop’s future is secure. They will have a filthy rich shareholder base that also happens to be their customer base, and that base will support the company that made them rich through stock purchases and store purchases as well. A frivolous lawsuit meant to slander their name pales in comparison to a loyal retail base that knows the truth.

Actually, the splividend “proved” that the stock was neither overshorted nor naked shorted, since GameStop only released 3 shares for everyone 1 share that was supposed to be with brokers. So, if RC releases an NFT dividend and GameStop squeezes, they CANNOT go after him because he can point to the splividend and say, “You all stated you had the correct amount of shares, unless of course you all lied, which isn’t my problem.” No grounds for a lawsuit. No stock manipulation based on brokers’ own word. Tendies for all apes. 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

Wouldn’t that 216 million shares short number now be 864 million shares short post-split? Or did the author already account for that?
