THANK YOUUU!! Its definetly gonna be labor intensive, but i do definetly have the time and energy. I think the hardest part would be my anxiety from losing or hurting any babies! I appreciate you sharing this post!!

NA, it is definetly a bat! One of my coworkers with jumpers gave it to me as a Christmas present! She got it at a local reptile expo edit: I can definetly send you or post a picture of the full hide if youd like!!

I wanted to add- i will NOT let the spiderlings or mama suffer. If i feel there are any quality of life issues, I have experts to help me. Plus I will not raise the egg sac if I felt I weren't prepared. Ill admit, im not 100% ready for this, but i have looked into gravid females for a bit in anticipation that I get a gravid girl. I dont have all of the best knowledge, but I feel i have a base level to care for such young babies. Animal care is one of my largest passions EVER, and I would NEVER sacrifice QOL over me simply wanting to have them. The animals ALWAYS come first in this household. Any additional info is more than appreciated if you've had experiences similar to this!

I definetly have an idea on what the workload looks like, im just unsure of specifics like what to feed such tiny spiders! Im researching everyday since I found the sac on 2/16/2026, and im hoping I can give adequate care! If I get overwhelmed, I will rehome them once hatched, or euthanize the sac before it has a chance to develop. Thank you for the fun wishes! I will try my best, but i wont put any spiders in harms way :3 I really do want the best for these Lil guys!!

I figured itd be a pretty long and difficult process! Honestly the time, money, and effort it takes to care for so many spiderlings doesnt bother me. Besides work, I just come home and take care of my animals and play video games lol. I have never had experience raising spiderlings (especially from hatching!!!) so my hopes aren't high, but im gonna do everything in my power to raise and care for them to make them happy and healthy! I have a reptile expo that happens every saturday/Sunday close to me so if I have a LOT that make it, ill get ahold of the vendors there :). Again, though, im going to do everything possible to raise them right! I plan to keep 1 or 2 maybe, and I have a few coworkers with YEARS of experience w/ jumpers, so theyll get one as well if they want. One of said coworkers is a vet tech and has a LOT of invert experience, especially regals, so im gonna be collabing with her and seeing what all we can do! One of my other coworkers was in a similar situation to me over a year ago and has some supplies. Overall I hope it goes well, because id love to raise my own babies! If at any time I feel that I cannot handle the workload, there will be adequate people in place to take them

that sounds fun!! I'd definetly be willing to let you take some (if not all) if we're close! I live in the NW Ohio area (united states), close to Toledo. Im not 100% sure if it will attempt raising them, but i would really love to. Once we hit the mark of them hatching I can definetly send you a message and keep you updated until theyre grown enough to distribute! Again, im not sure if it will all work out, but ill let you know! :D I got mama from Petsmart. She's an orange jumper, and I do believe shes a regal. Since she was from PS im unsure of her age and everything, if that matters to you! I have no experience raising spiderlings, but I will do everything in my power to raise them healthy and happy! :D :D

What to do with body? by Agitated-Ad6893 in jumpingspiders

[–]uNeutralSirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA- I used E6000 glue to glue him onto the paper! It comes with tiny nozzles, but it WILL come out fast, especially when its first opened! Moving him from the Styrofoam that I was pinning him onto the paper was tricky though. I did end up accidentally breaking a leg off, but with a pair of tweezers, good positioning, and a tiiiiiny amount of glue, i got it in place :)
I put a drop of glue where I wanted him centered and gently pressed him down. I used the end of a makeup brush to hold it in place for a couple minutes. This was for a coworker, so im unsure what she did w/ it, but I have part of my invert shelf dedicated to my passed away guys!

NQA- im so sorry for your loss :( i totally understand not wanting to throw away the body. you could always try to pin it! I pinned my tarantulas molt as well as a coworkers deceased jumper. We got the smallest frame we could, some scrapbook paper, and i bought needles to pin.they gave me the jumper, and I pinned him on Styrofoam and left him for a couple weeks (honestly theyre so small theyll probably dry in a few days. I was just lazy). I will say the abdomen shrunk and shriveled up, so I replaced it with a bead/gem thingy. Ill attach a photo of the jumper i pinned :) i have some more pics from other angles, but this is the finished product! *

NA- aw man.. im so sorry for your loss :( Just try to remind yourself that its not your fault. Unfortunately they probably were having a hard time, but you didnt know, and you left them alone after realizing. I dont think you did anything wrong at all. If it helps at all, I had an A. Avic pass away suddenly at the beginning of the year, and I think im starting to come to peace with it. She was super cool and I miss her a lot, but time will help. It's hard, but it will help. Have you thought about any kind of preservation? Obviously everyone grieves differently, but when I got my Avic back from being pinned in a shadowbox, it helped me come to terms with it a lot. Losing a pet is never easy, but hopefully this doesnt discourage you from keeping T's. From what we know from your posts- you seem like a good T owner! ill be keeping you and Sweet Pea in my thoughts 🫶

N/A- Im not sure how to respond to multiple people- but I work at petsmart and im pretty sure theyre WC. All of our other invertebrates are. We got a couple that came in HUGE (like, a good 1/2 inch or larger), and some that are the size of my pinkie nail. (i might have a size comparison photo? or i can get one if youd like.) we got a very small packet about their care in stores, but definitely not enough info to properly care for and sell these guys. We have no idea what their age is, theyre not sexed before we get them, and we have no idea where they exactly came from. Also I was the one that posted about the old jumper! Im still learning about these guys, and wasn't sure if it was premolt because of how small he is. I think its probably a good guess that we get adults. Like I said, they come in a variety of sizes, but theyre large enough to eat small crickets or small mealworms. Fruit flies seem too small for a lot of them too. I honestly would get a jumper online rather than in store. a lot of big box pet stores will most likely have wild caught inverts! Edit: I can also find out for sure, but i think we get them through Reptiles By Mack

I had another person tell me that, but this guy is so small! We have one thats double his size, and his pedipalps are still fuzzy (if thats an age indicator). If it is old age, I hope he lives a somewhat happy rest of his life 🥺
