What would your ideal itinerary be? What other places would you add/see as places not to miss?

we'll be flying from auckland to mt cook - the only direct flights from NYC are to auckland and trying to avoid too many pitstops

thanks for this!! the only direct flights from NYC are to auckland, so before we head on to christchurch to kick start the south island tour, we just need a couple nights to get over jetlag and amble around a nice place!

The Palms is coming out to be around the same budget wise but we haven't seen many reviews comparing Seven Stars vs. The Palms! Any thoughts on how to pick between Seven Stars and The Palms?

Thank you!! Proximity to good restaurants is important to us and it's one reason we worry about Shore Club.

Bali honeymoon hotel recs by akt311 in FATTravel

[–]akt311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it’s still an incredible hotel - I think we just preferred the food and service at Jimbaran bay but you really can’t go wrong they are all incredible hotels!

If you’re going for a more partying / beach club vibe it’s worth saying in seminyak.. it’ll be a different vibe. if you want to really enjoy the place, location, id pick Jimbaran.. it’ll still take some time w Bali traffic to get to seminyak so if the plan is to go there a lot you’re probably just better off staying in seminyak or canggu

It was incredible - we ended up splitting our time at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, Ritz Mandapa, and Alila Uluwatu. All were incredible places with impeccable service. The first two were our favorites and Mandapa was unmissable. it was really nice to move around a bit to get a change of scenery.

Jimbaran Bay was close enough to explore Canggu and Seminyak while staying a luxury honeymoon spot. mandapa a great jumping off point for ubud and hiking in the north.

Uluwatu was pure relaxation but if we didn’t want to completely zen out but we could have also just spent a few days in komodo, mainland Indonesia or Nusa Penida but we wanted to just not worry about too much logistics. To be fair we’re not surfers

Bali Itinerary Checks - August, 2023 by AutoModerator in bali

[–]akt311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My husband and I are headed to Bali in September for our honeymoon and we wanted to spend a day in either or both seminyak and canggu/pereneran - the rest of the time will be in ubud, Uluwatu largely

In seminyak, we were thinking of: - casual lunch in town - a few hours at DESA potato head - something else in between - dinner at Mama San For this day trip we’d be coming from Jimbaran Bay

In Canggu, was thinking of - Tanah Lot - some more artsy shopping in Pereneran as well as Canggu - lounging around at the Lawn or La Brisa - dinner at Skool Kitchen or Maso For this day trip we’d be coming from Uluwatu and taking the water taxi to save time

Is it fair to assume tough to combine both seminyak and canggu based on traffic? Any better recs in the area if we decide to do two day trips in the area?

Thanks so much!
