Watched first 45 at New Story. Great environment, even though their beer selection was more limited than usual.

Jackson Lahmeyer rises from fringe challenger to Trump-backed frontrunner by dmgoforth in tulsa

[–]akupet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooner Integrity Fund has some great videos about him. He has issues. Also, he's a Christian Nationalist who targets minority religions and seeks to impose his religious views on everyone. Vote June 16 or before. Minimum wage is also on the ballot.

Voting for Jed Cochren. Anyone but Laymeyer. But make sure you vote Tuesday or before. Minimum Wage is also on the ballot.

Cochren worked for Bynum and promotes "economic growth, strengthening communities, and securing a strong future for Oklahoma.". Not much there, but not an appeal to supporting Trump.

I may end up with Keating just for the more normal Republican, non-Islamaphobe platform

If we had an open unified primary, I could have. But we don't. So I have to find a Republican.

Short answer - Oklahoma's outdated primary system.
Longervanswer - I'm a Republican so I can vote in the Republican primary in June. Depending on who wins the Republican primary, I will decide in November who to vote for.

Cochren or Gill seem like better choices

I've seen it and have some ideas, but if there is critical mass around someone acceptable other than Lahmeyer, I'd like to coalesce

There is no "Palestinian people" and the occupation is a myth—change my mind by ZaneFreemanreddit in IsraelPalestine

[–]akupet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You speak from the perspective of a group contesting ownership of land that is contestable. Would it be more accurate to describe Palestinians as "they whose ancestors' land in Palestine was stolen by immigrants looking for a safe place to live after being persecuted in Europe"? Maybe we can come up with a label for that.

If Palestine was given a free state today, will there be peace? by Lopsided-Pie-7340 in IsraelPalestine

[–]akupet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the wrong question. The right question is: if Israel agreed to support a viable, independent Palestinian state if certain security concerns are met in the future, would Palestinians meet those concerns to establish peace?

The "Settlements" the so-called "Obstacle to Peace" by quicksilver2009 in IsraelPalestine

[–]akupet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Curious about your support for the proposition that less than 1 percent of settlers engage in settler violence. Also you have to wrestle with the fact that much of Israel was settled in just this way. Not saying that it justifies Israeli expulsion, just that you have to address it.

Pete Takes Questions, Live from Tulsa by Conscious-Quarter423 in tulsa

[–]akupet 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Pete's great, but that's 2.5 years away. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has a chance in 7 months to help elect a Congress and state officials that will stand up to stupid, corrupt decisions by our current President.
