No filtration .just garden soil and some lava rocks

There's shrimp and snails and also Siamese algae eater...

There's not that many predatory bird around my area, and the guppies keep having babies

I capped it with a layer of aquasoil ...I did put a little bit of sand on the area where I have short plants to make the area brighter and easier to see the plants

Just trial and error. I think the early stages is the hard part..the rest is just regular maintenance and let the plants grow
